regarding ellis i dont like it when he has to play as the target man for keepers kicks and free kicks etc as even though hes a big lad it dosnt really suit him, i want to see him running into the spaces behind the defence which is his strength with his pace and power,,in truth we have 3 decent strikers who all prefer playing off of a big target man I agree but I think if Ellis is going to develop into the finished article then he has to be able to do this a bit better. From what I've seen the one aspect of his game that is lacking is his back to goal play. That doesn't imply that you have to play him as a target man - it just means that you need to be able to be productive when the defender is tight to you. He's gotten an awful lot better at this than he was when he first started with us. Think Jason Roberts or Peter Beadle - both of these guys were skilled in different ways and both at their best when forwards with the ball at their feet but they could both be absolutely deadly with their backs to goal and it added a whole other dimension to their game. If you have a powerful striker who can do that then you don't need a targetman.
