Not often I've been to a game where every Rovers player was at least an 8/10 performance including the subs who came on. It's been several years since i witnessed us control and dominant a football league game, massive credit to the players who seem so comfortable and happy playing at our home ground, and credit to DC who has a fantastic ability at creating togetherness in the squad, you can see that every player wants to play for the manager and do well for him. Lockyer showed why he's the best centre back at the club, Sinclair will give you 100% energy and 100% desire wherever he plays, i think he's the perfect man to replace Leadbitter at right wing back. Good news that Mansell can now fill in for Sinclair, and hopefully DC can bring in another striker this week, looks like Lucas is injured as he came off after 20 minutes today.

Did Oli Clarke Play his best game ever for the Rovers today I think so Nope, he was better on Tuesday. I thought Clarke was far more effective today, looking stronger and passing better than he did against a more technically gifted Luton side - but it's all about opinions! Keep it up Ollie!

Just noticed we scored the earliest goal in at least the top 5 divisions.

Things really do look promising with this group of players and DC in control. I really hope Leadbetter's injury is not as serious as suggested. Today has only been tainted by a few on here who seem to bait each other at every opportunity, it's getting very tiresome guy's. Perhaps we should consider setting up a "Playground" thread where those type of posting can be moved thus removing the annoying distractions from the "Matchday" threads. Anyway...Great win though and such a pleasure to be looking near the top of a football league table for Bristol Rovers!

Great stuff, and lets not leave out the "Number 12" for praise - the Blackthorn was the best its been in years today. An early goal obviously helps, and we needed a bit of sting from the Barnet fans to get back on it in the second half, but still a very nice place to be in for 90 minutes ;0)
Leadbitter's injury was GUTTING tho. He's been the key to the uptick in class with 5-3-2 this season, and he will be sorely, sorely missed.
And to their number 2, Gavin Hoyte ..... the ref missed your punch in the back of Ellis's head, before your head-but challenge on him 10 minutes later, but I didn't: you're a bad man.

This time last season (23/08/14) we were in 15th in the Conf - How DC has moved us on.

Um, be negative be positive, seriously, your personalities do this even when you hate the way you want to feel.
I'm not trying to be a psychologist, but I love the fact we are winning games, luckily, with s**t strikers, no creativity, Lockyer and Clarke and Taylor etc cheap fans and board a manager that's out of his depth and all the other stuff .
Top half, through the players/managers attitude. Top six if we enjoy and join in to what's happening .

We've won yet still people find an excuse to be a knob. Oh well you must be a true fan. And you not being a knob use the word knob. Excellent win again today. Sounding out those who only come alive when we lose is a pleasure of mine. Your first reaction after a good win is to come on the forum and "sound out" someone? You've commented on this thread 6 times. Once has the main point of the post been about the game and that wasn't until your fourth post. I'm a rose tinter and proud and I disagree with pretty much all of what Bamber says, but you'd be hard pressed to find "poison" in the post you original quoted. Anyway each to their own. I rely on this forum for updates about the match as I can't get the radio where I live and the BBC is often blocked.

Good points:
Team performance. Passing football. Creativity. Shape, structure organisation. Strong defence. Martin Allen has comfort eaten since last seen him at Mem. Cider was good.
Bad points: Leads out.
Last season how many would've seen Leads out as a major worry? He was seen as just being there to make up the numbers.
Barnet were a shadow of last season dominators, and I confess I got it wrong earlier in thread as I thought it would be a hard game. It wasn't. We swept Barnet aside, and put to bed any lingering doubts about fan rivalry and last season. End of...

Really good performance, but that keeper worries me to death. I keep hearing people talk about the importance of having a big keeper, I would much rather have someone who actually knows how to position himself and how to make the area his own. Ideally Puddy will be back soon. I haven't seen Mildenhall in a competitive game yet, but surely he would do a better job. We have had 3 wins against what seems to be 3 of the poorer sides, if we beat Orient I might break into a smile!

Got to admit, I was mightily relieved to hear the final whistle. Not because I thought Barnet might get back into the game, ( they looked a well beaten side ) but because I had washing on the line, and I just managed to get home before the heavens opened.

What an ugly, boring, physical, bullying, whingeing and cheating side Barnet was, no wonder only a handful of fans travel a comparatively short distance to watch them. All credit to our boys for not letting them dominate and they stood their ground. Again we saw giants at 4 and 5, but guile should always out do them.
Allen was talking to the ref as the officials were warming up which is out of order.
PS one of the most ridiculous chants from the Blackthorn of, "Wem..ber..ley, Wem..ber..ley...." against the Champions who were done and dusted with their feet up on holiday when we were there!

I do wonder if the new keepers offers anything Mildenhall doesn't, not knocking the new keeper but can anybody see what he does better? Distribution wise it seems it's just the boot up field, although there does seem less hesitancy in the defence but then again we do now have 3 CB's, unless Mildy couldn't cope with the extra 1 in training! Personally I'd make Ollie Clarke MotM has his performance was miles better than we've from him at the Mem, Sinclair's was just a typical day at the office by his, high, standards.

Don't see that as ridiculous at all. Barnet have been goading us about them winning the championship, so why not respond, with a reminder that we not only got promotion, but plenty of extra revenue via the play offs + a showpiece Wembley final to boot!

You knocked the keeper then said you weren't knocking him? Make your mind up! His kicks are better than Mildenhall's and he throws it out more often.

At Luton Chapman had little to do defensively but tactically he played a good game, he distributed well out to the wing backs and kicked much more directly I thought. He's only been here a few weeks remember. Yes orient will be a greater test but they almost slipped up against Newport and shipped two goals in the process so perhaps we'll be a proper test for them.

I agree, would have preferred to have gone up as champions but the test of Wembley and the manner of the win gives our squad confidence and momentum you just couldn't pay for.
