Keth Brookman was kind enough to exchange a couple of emails with me, explaining the history and context of the lack of digital programme. I pointed out that technology and peoples reading habits had moved on and it was perhaps time to reconsider. He agreed to canvas opinion from the other football league clubs, and ask the question again through the clubs website and social media and through the print programme.
If there is enough interest, there could be a digital programme to buy and read on your device of choice. It is at least being considered.
Hats off to the club/programme for reaching out and listening.

This would be great! Delivered to my iPad on the morning of every home game. I'm in. Could be worth a poll me thinks!

Hi everyone have been following the thread about the lack of ma digital programme and felt I needed to clarify the situation. The idea was mooted a couple of years ago and I wrote to every Football league club asking if they had any experience of using a digital service alongside the hard copy. The answers, (only 19 bothered to respond) were all very negative and all of those clubs said that in their opinion it wasn't worth doing and they were making nothing from digital sales. Admittedly the situation may have changed in the intervening two years and if there is sufficient interest from Rovers supporters then I will investigate again. Our printers advise me that an Apple Licence is required before we can issue a digital programme but if there are, for example, 100 Rovers supporters who would subscribe to a digital version of the programme then it will be worth further investigation. We currently operate a subscription service for the hard copy and have only 35 subscribers. Apologies if you feel that your comments have been ignored and that tweets haven't been answered. However if you have any constructive comments regarding the programme I would be happy to hear from you - email me at keithbrookman@bristolrovers.co.uk Keith Brookman Great to see a Bristol Rovers employee communicating with supporters via the forum. Well done Keith.

With regards to an Apple license, presumably you'll only need an Apple License if the media is distrubuted on their platform (iTunes). Why not just distribute the PDF version directly to all people that have / will subscribe (with a little publicity I'm sure these 35 will increase)?

Hi everyone Keith again, regarding the digital programme issue One person has asked why don't we send out the PDF's that we send to the printer. I'm not sure if that's the solution, but wondered if those interested would like to receive a set of low res proofs for ONE SECTION of the Oxford programme next week just so that you can see what that would look like. I'm not sure that it's the answer as I don't think it will look professional enough, but whilst I try to gauge opinions about a digital programme this MIGHT be an interim solution. Obviously I will need email addresses of all those who would like a PDF section of next week's programme and look forward to hearing from those of you who might be interested Keith keithbrookman@bristolrovers.co.uk keithbrookman@btinternet.com
