If we go on a bad run come October/November DC will be hounded out by these dips***s who think as they are good on FIFA and easily get rovers promoted all the time- they know better. In all seriousness, Northampton didn't have to do a great deal today to win the game, did they?

awful match, terrible tactics, totally outplayed by a strong physical side. The only plus about this match was the superb playing surface, the best I have ever seen it, pity the players didn't do it justice. The only plus about this match for me was the final whistle! That was bad today and I can only agree with you there.

So after 90 minutes in the league DC is clueless and an idiot yet you praise the laziest player ever to wear the quarters, strange. Our top goalscorer that season where the manager failed to take 8 points from 8 games, 5 of which were at home. Still an absolute disgrace of a player to himself our club last season and the so called profession as a whole, if you think DC should be held responsible for the shambles that run since 2006 then may i suggest a visit to the doctor. 1 game, 1 game ffs and the knives are out already, absolutely pathetic and a very sad sign of the times, some fans have no idea whatsoever, yet Higgs continues to run the club into the ground totally unchallenged, sometimes i think i live in the fecking twilight zone as very little makes sense when it comes to praise and criticisms at this club.

The tactics were wrong, long balls to thier 6"3+ centre backs was never going to work- felt sorry for Easter as he was working hard and on occasion did get the better of them. I agree that the tactics were wrong, but I disagree about Easter; I thought he was awful. It was an utter mismatch between him and the two centre halves, but he didn`t even bother to jump when the ball was played in his direction. Taylor may have made a mess of the one chance that he did get, but at least he was in there trying. Easter looks like a pro at the end of his career, happy to pick up one last pay check. We might as well have had Jermaine Jackson out there today.

I agree. We just scrape out of a division filled with park players and people think that a manager who had all the cards stacked in his favour is doing well. Too early obviously to have any idea how this season will go, but today's performance, tactics and inability to change as the game progressed was worrying. Still, we were pants on the first day of last season and got promoted. We got turned over 4-1 on the first day of the 2006~07 season, and that turned out OK.

Piss poor is the only words to describe that display. No fight, no confidence, no f***ing clue. Why play with wide men/wingers crossing the ball to centre halves head and shoulders above our front men, then resort to the big boot! Team selection looked very strange to me, Lockyear in centre mid? (Fish out of water today) Sinclair out wide? (wasted there) Seen quite enough of Taylor to know that he ain't got what we need, time to part ways methinks.

Correct and you are not alone with your way of thinking my friend. Just remember there are many cowardly, bitter condescending arseholes who `support` the Rovers

Well it's ok guys... We're only 3 points off top spot There are 135 points still to play for We were without McCrystal and Mansell
Lines was poor today but I felt we really missed Mansell. Lockyer is NOT a midfielder.

My doctor is a very nice and efficient Chinese lady. But if I went to her and said that DC was responsible for the shambles at Bristol Rovers since 2006, I think she would be somewhat bemused.

Surely that should read Lines was poor today as Lockyer is not a midfielder? Given Lockyer struggled last season in that role in the Conference I can't understand DC's logic in using him in that role today against a decent Div 2 midfield.

Dont understand the comments that Taylor isn't good enough at this level. Didnt have a good day today but which Rovers player did? 1 game played so dont be getting on his back and writing him off after 70 odd minutes of football

Lockyer is NOT a midfielder. Totally agree. Balls up to keep Locks there imo. And sincs is def not a right winger.. Just feel DC is still learning, why didn't he try Locks in midfield, pre season ? Lines/Locks was a midfield pairing not many predicted..

He got away with it last season against park players, he's up against full time professionals now and will get one or two of those chances at most each game, unless he can improve his finishing he'll find himself finishing the season somewhere like FGR or Eastleigh. If Easter was being played as the forward striker today we would have been 1-0 up.

bad miss by taylor today but very clever play to anticipate the back pass,i doubt any of our other forwards would have taken up that position. still a bad miss but i still think he can do well and score goals this season.

who was or wasn't there doesn't matter - we got a reminder today that there will be many teams with 6 foot 6 defenders and decent players in front of them who can play on the floor. That was a bloody awful display - got neck ache ! only first game but where is the team play, passing, ball control. Saw precious little of any of that....

Conference Side 0 League Side 1
This is essentially the side which scrambled out of the Conference. Northampton were Bigger, Better, Faster and Fitter. Apart from that...................!

Come on, come now. The first half Gas performance wasn't bad at all. We could have gone in 1-0 up too.
