So now we are back in the football league is it going to be more difficult to listen live to matches or is there a radio Northampton I can listen to later? I've noticed already that the latest interviews are appearing on GasPlayer, not YouTube. So I guess it's also the end of free media content?
Excited for today, even though I'll be working, c'mon gas!

It certainly looks that way. :-( www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/13629210This stance by the FA just doesn't make sense The people you are preventing from listening are people overseas or away from the home or away team's broadcast area - the fans that would, most likely, have been unable attend the game anyway. There was a time when local broadcasters were only able to visit a ground for updates (something like) 3 times each half, and then only away commentaries with a restricted number of home commentaries a season (if memory serves!). I can understand the thought that the FA might want fans to go to the game, rather than listen on the radio, but if so this rule doesn't really do that.

I occasionally have to miss a home game through being away from Bristol. So I, as a season-ticket holder to a Football League team, cannot listen to match commentary, whilst someone in Bristol who could attend the game but chooses not to, can hear Radio Bristol commentary. Radio Bristol's web page tells you that the commentary is being broadcast, but all you can get on the web is the alternative music programme. Several things were actually better last season - radio commentary being one. Being top-dog in the Non-League Paper, instead of an also-ran in the Football-League Paper was nice, too! Still glad to be back, though!

Live commentary is rarely on R Bristol for home games in Bristol, although paying for the usually unreliable Gas player is a small price to pay to get back in league football in my view!

It's always on. Just on mw instead of fm. (Unless you mean on the net, but then that applies to away games equally.)

Worst thing was that the commentary disappeared almost immediately after his goal - 5 mins earlier would have suited me fine!

Ffs I somehow knew the minute I'd posted that it would be wrong. Can't for the life of me understand why the other lot were on both frequencies. I've never known it happen before. Crazy

Crazy All lower league clubs need to realise interaction and engagement is important in today's media age when attracting new fans in the face of premiership hyperbole. It will be interesting what access gashead ex-pats experience compared to last seasons excellent YouTube and radio coverage. Loss of media will only make the forum even more important as information and realism threads are the only valuable reporting of worth (thanks in particular stevek and angas). It sucks being kept out the loop by the league and/or local radios restrictive media agreements.
