Seems to me that parts of the French media wouldn't have given a French rider the same treatment if he'd been setting the same times.
Not saying it's an anti English thing but more to do with no home grown riders competing at the top end in their own tour.

Interestingly enough no doping stories actually broke during the tour this year that I recall. Just the ne guy (forgot who it was) testing positive for Cocaine.

Basically Froome caught the others on the hop in the first day in the Pyrenees after the rest day.

Geraint Thomas would probably have placed top 5 or 6 if not for his nasty crash
