Just a quickie - went to mem sat last after a group of my Japanese and Spanish students asked if they could see my teams stadium ( not the nou camp or yokohama staduim I told them ) - Undeterred, they wanted to go and buy shirts/and other stuff from club shop. Now given its pre- season you'd think the club shop at least would be open - after all on weekdays you can just walk-in and even have a quick kick-about on the pitch and what about those who want to pick up season/match tickets. Locked up! Any (sensible) possible ideas as to why the whole place was closed?

Seems a bit strange when they've recently advertised our training gear and it's the only opportunity for those working in the week. It's fair to say marketing and sales aren't the club's strongest point.

What's the betting if the shop was open somebody would ask why the shop's open on a Saturday during preseason when there's hardly any customers?

Well there's no customers whatsoever when the shop is closed so the decision not to open must be the right one. i read something about a man who sold hot dogs once.

Possible cutbacks in staff due to large debt payment due or NO volunteers available to man the shop due to holidays... you choose !

Any business that is put so far in debt that the repayments mean that it's no longer able to employ sufficient staff to serve customers is on a slippery slope to oblivion.

I think Nick should organise a referendum amongst the fans on whether we should pay back our debts, when we vote no, he will be in a much stronger position with the clubs creditors.

Dependant on people to man your shop for free, when they aren't available the shop doesn't open.

Isn't that how most supporters club shops exist at this level with voluntary staff ? Maybe so, but most clubs in the basement division won't have the support base that Rovers enjoy, and won't be riding the crest of the opportunity created by Wembley and promotion. Even then, I doubt that many won't open because nobdy seems to be in charge to organise staff rotas. Of course, I have no idea what PL was shut on Saturday, so all, some or none of this may apply to PL.

Had they been open our customers would have spent 500 quid or so and if the staff voluntary I'd have made them give a fiver each on top to the staff and relented on the threat of extra homework....!
