How can you go from requiring around 9 an over before rain to requiring nearly 17 an over under DWL ? That's nonsense, why couldn't they just extended the match by a further half hour to have the full number of overs ? Completely spoilt what was a very high class and exciting game in the end.

Exactly. England would probably have lost anyway but were completely stitched up by Messrs Duckworth and Lewis.
Why did they lose any overs anyway, it was floodlit and could've gone on all night.

Gutted. That was building to a really exciting finish, its so difficult as the batting side to go off and come back on after rain. All rhythm is gone and you have to 'get back in' but have no time to do so. The reason that overs were lost is that there's a cut off time for matches at the Oval. Most grounds have one, I guess its to do with floodlights in a residential area. We may find that out at Nevil road eventually if the nimbys don't get their way.
