Well that was an absolute shambles. Arrived with my mate around 10am to find a healthy queue into the club shop. Immediate confusion over whether to queue up for the club shop or the matchday ticket office. We moved over to the matchday ticket office (we were told we could get both there) and then got told we needed a raffle ticket for an away ticket. Off I went in search of raffle tickets to no avail.
One member of staff was then giving them out by the matchday office although she never bothered coming over to our queue. We tried getting the staff's attention to get a raffle ticket but were told when the office opened that there were none left and so we couldn't have an away ticket. This despite being at the front of the queue. Apparently "some people got lucky and you didn't"
Really don't know why I bother with this club at times.

So let me get this straight... both the shop and the ticket office were open. They gave raffle tickets to people to exchange for an away ticket (seems reasonable, means that people's expectations are managed about whether they'll get one) but they only did this in the queue at the shop and not the queue at the ticket office?

Wrong. Raffle tickets were given out there too. They ran out just as I was next to receive one.

They started giving them out to the club shop queue then they ticket office queue. But they didn't give them out in any real order, ensuring that those of us at the front had one before those at the back. Some people had just joined the queue when they were given a raffle ticket.

This despite being at the front of the queue. Apparently "some people got lucky and you didn't" Really don't know why I bother with this club at times. Absolutely. I ventured up there in good time today to discover chaos and confusion as to where to go for away tickets. Rumours were circulating that none were left, and that raffle tickets were given to some fans as early as 8.30?! I saw a senior club official and quizzed them as to what the situation was regarding away tickets. His response was along the lines of they'd all been sold (this was before 12noon) and raffle tickets were given to some fans earlier in the morning as the club wanted to avoid a situation of a long queue at midday for them?! When asked if fans had been communicated this via the website, I was told he didn't believe so. All in all I found it quite a staggering attitude to take when dealing with supporters, some of whom had been to all away games this season and had arrived in good time. Hardly a fair and transparent way to go about business. The management and organisation of this club is quite amazing at times.

Wrong. Raffle tickets were given out there too. They ran out just as I was next to receive one. OK, so that doesn't seem quite as bad then. We REALLY need a system that rewards regular away fans though. Have done for years. Travelling to Gateshead, Halifax, Chester, Lincoln, Wrexham etc doesn't seem to mean a thing if you haven't got a season ticket etc

Subsequent posts imply it really was a bit of a confused shambles.
Why can't we have a system that rewards people who've put in the miles to support the team?

I just got back. There was a bunch (about 50 or so) people queuing by the club shop for away tickets. They had their raffle tickets so were expecting away tickets. I went over to the North Stand ticket office to get my home ticket, and about five minutes later, these fifty came legging it round to the north stand ticket office, coz the shop had run out of aways and they'd all been told that there were away tickets left in the ticket office. And then the woman in the ticket office told them they'd sold out of aways before the club shop. So there's a bunch of fans all wondering why they were given useless raffle tickets and told to stand in queues for ages.

I really can't understand why, given the obvious demand there would be, the club couldn't just direct everyone to the club shop, take their voucher, give them a wristband/ticket and send them on there way asking them to return between 12-4. Once they've given out one per ticket put the message out there on Twitter/Facebook etc. that there are none left. That way, they'd avoid mass confusion in the queue and disappoint fewer people.

Personally I am not a season ticket holder, but have been to 18 home games & 14 away this season, realised I had no chance of getting a ticket soon as the whistle went yesterday, which is no problem, I'm down with the ST priority gig etc...
But a friend of mine who IS a ST holder and drives to every single away match and has done for years, didn't even get anywhere near the front of the que today. Now that is hard to take.
May only be one game, sure. But we are talking a play off semi final here. Disappointing for the guy (and no this isn't one of the classic 'my friend' episodes!) haha
Would like to see an away game points loyalty set up, brought in personally. As was said above.

What a stupid idea to sell tickets from two different parts of the ground, all tickets today should have been sold from the ticket cabin behind the blackthorn end. 750 FGR tickets sold to a priority group with over 3,000 in it meant today was going to be chaos, a proper plan should have been put in place, did anyone with a raffle ticket actually get a ticket.?

It does seem bizarre. Away tickets are limited so only have them on sale at ONE of the outlets. Clearly signpost which of these it is. Then people who only want home tickets can go to the other one.
The raffle ticket system... well it does seem to me that some people are going to have gone down there to get multiple tickets on behalf of friends. So if they gave out 750 raffle tickets then a few of these people are going to have been disappointed because some will have had one ticket but bought more than one away ticket.
BRFC: sort it out. Those who go to away games at the arse end of nowhere in midwinter deserve to be rewarded. Work out how to do that, communicate it properly and you'll avoid this kind of foolishness.

Unfortunately that sounds like more to do with the decision making of the people giving out the 'raffle' tickets not the club, although of course I understand they are part of the club but even more your frustration at being at the front of the queue but not being given the opportunity to get the priority you should have done.
