I know the wizend old cynics amongst us that used to inhabit the old Alternative Forum tend to mock the "Guess the Crowd" threads elsewhere, but I am genuinely interested in what "Sold Out" will mean for Saturday's crowd figure. There are a couple of unknowns: - Because we have all of the East Terrace - so no sterile zone from segregation - How many will Alfreton bring. Not sure what the prize is, but I'm trying to negotiate a years supply of Cider in the Three Lions!

10,500 with 150 coming from a small club near Mansfield (as they describe themselves, apparently).
Why would you want to spend a year in the Three Lions?

Should be about 800 up from the 10,600 we had at Mansfield.

The club must be expecting over 11,000. Rovers posted on the OS at 14:47 today: Conference Attendance Record in Club's Sights
Bristol Rovers will be looking to eclipse the current Conference record for attendance in a regular season fixture. The current record is held in the Boxing Day fixture between Oxford United and Woking back in 2006 and stands at 11,065. With today's news that Rovers have sold out of their allocation the club eagerly anticipate final figures coming in from Alfreton Town so we can calculate the anticipated attendance. Bristol Rovers would like to take a moment to thank you Gasheads for your fantastic support throughout the season both on the road and at the Memorial Stadium and we hope to see as many of you as possible come 5:15pm Saturday. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/going-for-the-record-2417607.aspx

Yep, if we define our own criteria we might get a record.
It'll probably be Rovers HIGHEST EVER attendance for a 5:15 kick off in April, too. Worth an article?
The Conference record is 11,963 and I'd be very surprised if we beat that even in the playoffs, where it was originally achieved by Oxford v Rubbish and Dustbins in 2010.

Surely if we have sold out, and all ticket holders are accounted regardless of whether they attend, the club already know the figure that will be given?
It would help the cause if we hadn't left 200 seats empty in the South Stand. Liverpool keep about 3 seats between their fans and Man Yoo fans, yet we need a whole block to separate Alfretons 100 or so fans from the South Stand massive...

As at last Saturday, Alfreton had sold 87 of their 143 allocation: www.alfretontownfc.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=4258I understand they still have some left. As to no 'sterile zone' for segregation, I'm not sure that this would have a bearing on the ground capacity. I would have thought that there would need to be a separate safety certificate in place, which we probably don't have. My reading is Rovers fans just get the same number of tickets that would have been available to away spectators, and if so would just mean it's not so cramped if the segregation barriers aren't up!

I don't want to hold the record NON-LEAGUE attendance. Too embarrassing. Plus the Teds will take the piece. I'd rather we come in and go back out without leaving our name.

Think that's a play off attendance, the record for a normal league fixture is a bit lower
