Just a thought I was musing on whilst bored by Iran-Nigeria. Too late now I suppose, but maybe we should drop the famous blue and white quarters until we return to the Football League, since we don't want to shame the famous strip by displaying it in non-league. Announce that we will revert to the traditional kit as soon as we make our glorious return. We did it in 1962-63 for our first season in the old 3rd Division, following relegation the previous season after a glorious 10 years in the old 2nd Division. Maybe we could revert to the very smart blue shirts/white shorts combo we adopted in the late 60s, which heralded the rise back to much better times a few years later and the re-adoption of the quarters. I'm not expecting much support for this........but healthy debate is good for the soul.

Not a bad idea but the club have probably designed the kit and manufactured it in probably Romania with the badge sewn on in Italy.

If I see a blue shirt I think of a multitude of clubs, when I see a blue and white quartered shirt I think of Rovers. Keep the quarters!

Only a couple of nibbles. You'll never feed the family on that. Try further upstream.

This is something I suggested a few weeks ago. When I first started watching our manager was just changing from Dodgin to Megson and we wore the solid Blue with White trim. Won Watney cup, promotion and were relatively successful in that time. It's not as crazy as some would have you believe.

We were promoted in 73/74 wearing quarters. And 2006/07 so I recall, although it was a light blue so maybe that doesn't count ? Short memories some people possibly

Wayne Jones, Kenny Stephens, All-Time Frankie Prince, All-time Haaaaarold, Bobby Jones, Sandy Allan, All-time Dick Sheppard, Lindsay Parsons, Tom Stanton, Brian Godfrey, Gordon Fearnley, All-time Stuart Taylor, Robin Stubbs and Bryn Jones barely a squad player among them

Short memories some people possibly Short memories or just misplaced, I would have been 11. I do know that when I started going that we played in the solid Blur. We win the Watney cup in Blue. So I got the one facet wrong, shoot me lol

I always think of Rovers wearing this shirt but with blue shorts and socks like in the late 60s when I first went to Eastville, however after 40 years of the quarters we are probably stuck with them, maybe we could get the club badge changed back though.

I'd prefer solid blue shirts, I recon it will help the players pick our own players out with the crowd in the background I find them camouflaged myself.
One year we had solid backs with quarters on the front that was better.
Yes when I started watching at Eastville, Rovers played in all blue al la Chelsea

Wayne jones and Robin Stubbs were my heroes. The cup wins v 1st Division Birmingham and Norwich when I saw extra time played for the 1st time. Yes nothing wrong with playing in Blue in my book

It was all about the money back in the early 60s. Quarters cost more to make in those days.

Forget ditching the quarters.
I say they should be ALL made to wear black armbands to signify the death of the club until we at the very least get promoted back into the FL. I'd make the incumbents of Box 1 wear them too!
Mind you, thinking about it that's not half a bad way for supporters to register their disgust with the crap way BRFC is run. If the club refuse to listen to BRISA etc a black armband protest at the death of our club would be a decent way of showing them what we think. Easy, cheap and gets the point over.

Could be a useful job for the directors actually.
