Well guaranteed place in the playoffs and a chance to be champions. Far cry from the "we will be playing Weston if Clarke is in charge" as said by a number of people at the beginning of the season. Yes we started badly and it took us time to adjust, and this is what has impressed me most. Grimsby, here for 5/6 seasons, this is Barnet's second year here, they finished 10th last season and they have a manager who knows this league very well. Then there is the club that came down with us , Torquay who are currently 17th. I just like to say thanks DC. It is a much bigger task to get out of this league than perhaps anyone ever thought. If we don't go up this season, disappointing, but I think we would be champions next season, and probably by Easter

The only reason we wont go up is because of too many drawn games that we should have won
Some will say that to not lose is a plus but to me in the current points arrangement it is more 2 points lost and this could ultimately cost us! I would prefer to lose a few more games and convert other draws into wins which if had been the case we would probably 6/7 points clear at the top!

We absolutely MUST stick with DC if promoted or not!!
He has been superb this season ! Has certainly restored my faith in the playing side of our club!

It's the draws at Chester, Dartford and at home to Dover that bother me.

Well we've all got our reasons why we think some things should have been done differently but there are many other league clubs who have found it far more difficult to get out of this league who are still here or spent far more years in it than they would have wished i.e. Oxford, Luton, Grimsby, Wrexham etc so to be in with a chance of getting out of it first go is a great achievement. Sorry I don't agree with those who say we should easily win this league, we have to earn the right to get out of it, few if any teams have rolled over and let us win, full time teams or those 'part timers' full of plumbers, bus drivers, postmen etc. Great to see Darrell come over to the fans at the end of the game to acknowledge us, if we don't go up this season (shiver goes up my back at this point) I would prefer to retain him for the following season...UTG !

I'm not knocking DC as I'm enjoying the end of the season but I wonder whether the likes of Luton & Grimsby have add anything like his budget which has allowed him to bring in the likes of Lines & Easter at this stage of the season? In fact lets hope we can afford it and we're not just spending the wonga loan money!

You're probably right about Grimsby but Luton invested heavily the season they eventually went up, well at least that's what people on this forum said anyway

The fact is that drawing away and winning at home were the signs of a good team many years ago when they gave 2 points for a win and one point for a draw. Its not quite as true now because if you score us on the old basis I( think you will find we would now be crowned as Champions!!!

I suppose it also depends on who you lose to as if we'd lost to Macclesfield we may have well let them back into the Championship race?
