Bristol f**king Sport. With all their "2 teams in Bristol" s**te.
I live in BS7 and can see the Mem from my home.
Nick, if you're reading this, please, please start marketing the club. Put an ad out, don't expect the same old folk to just turn up forever.
With the great results on the pitch we've something to build on - even if we've not financially doped our way to the 2nd tier like some.
Those b'stards should think that it'd be a waste of their time leafleting north Bristol.

There's a huge advertising board with the same message on at the beginning of the Portway opposite the entrance to the Cruise Terminal. Anyone got any blue spray paint to write across it "You'll never get rid of the Gas !" a la Banksy as his type of grafitti seems to be acceptable and not a criminal offence

I could think of a use for that leaflet... It's glossy, so would be as much use as that crinkly Izal stuff they used to have in school toilets. Great for plastering, not much use for cleaning.

Don't forget we had all this the last time and where did it get them, right back where they started off from. I expect them to get promotion but can't see them getting higher than mid table and then as Nottingham Forest fans will tell you Mr Cotterill will start tinkering with the team and the cycle will start all over again.... Anyway why are we even discussing them......Mods, set this to fall please

We could really make something out of not being part of "Bristol Sport". I don't think, despite all the ads and the money spent on them, that they understand the mind of the average sports fan. The owners, investors, managers and perhaps players involved in the BS empire must love it, but I think your average fan (and I'm writing here about fans who support their local teams) has little interest in a franchise. They just want to follow their club. They want them to do well, of course, and money generated by a franchise empire might help that. But imagine if in a few years when C*ty are struggling in the Championship, and they cannot spend all they would like because BS have diverted some funds to hockey and rugby to make sure they keep up the pace.
It's like a sporting food court. You join the BS mall and take your pick of whatever sport you fancy on your plate from the loads available at the time. I can't see it working. Maybe I'm wrong and it'll be a roaring success. Clearly they think so.
Anyway, back to my first point. As BS develops, we could attract a lot of independent-minded fans who are not tempted by the thought of supporting a sporting franchise. We just need to promote ourselves as independent, passionate, well-supported and DIFFERENT from the BS empire.
Actually that reads a bit like an explanation of why UKIP have been so successful of late. Well, so what? I'm not a supporter of them, but I admire the way in which they've distanced themselves from the big parties and have found a lot of support from people who don't like politicians who suggest that "we are big so we must be better".

Outside of Bristol i don't think anyone really cares to be honest, i am not sure what SL is trying to achieve. Never will people from other parts of England start supporting a club from Bristol the same way they choose to pick Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea etc as thier team... The franchise might benefit individuals and teams under the BS umbrella but not SL, cant see him ever getting return from it. I think he got vision from visiting Barca, laughable if he ever thinks BS will ever come close to what Barcalona is as a Brand now.
We will only ever be competing with the sh!t none of the other teams and individual under BS, as long as we start marketing ourselves properly, hopefully get our league status back and fingers crosssed a new ground we will be alright. If we can do that and things really start to look good, i would to see big Bristol is Blue billboard when entering north and south Bristol on motorway. I admire Man Cities arogance doing that when they signed Tevez, showed real balls and that they were to be taken seriously.
