It's a big 'no f**king thanks' from me. But then I remember we don't qualify for this one

I can imagine a dystopian future in which we are forced to play a match against Bristol Sport B.

Just the latest attempt to run English football purely for the benefit of its elite components.
The England football thing is a red herring; this is about big clubs seeing the job of the rest of football as to serve their interests.
You know there used to be a B league which promising English footballers played in until they were considered good enough and ready to play for top clubs; it was called the Football League.....
The problem is the unequal distribution of resources creating ridiculous player hoarding at age groups. The ridiculousness of modern football is defined by the number of talented players sitting in reserve/youth/on the bench at the bigger clubs who would be stars pretty much anywhere else. There is no other branch of the entertainment business that willfully restricts the exposure of high quality performers like this.

Seems pointless to me. I though they want these players to get regular games a game or two in the JPT achieves nothing for those player the big clubs want to get games (may as well send them out on loan) and potentially takes away chances for lower league teams to have a bit of their own success/go to Wembley etc.

No issue with them playing but surely they should be banned form actually winning their leqgues/progressing to the finals, as who wants to watch say Liverpool U21 v Man C U21 at Wembley, or even a BRFC v Premiership U21 final?
Also as a U21 team ever played a Div 1/2 team, what happens if they are far too strong or weak to play an experienced league side?

Why don't they just play their "B" teams against each other on the same day as the "A" teams at the opposite venue.
Fixture list
Saturday ## January ####
White Hart Lane 3:00pm Spurs "A" v Liverpool "A" Anfield 3:00pm Liverpool "B" v Spurs "B"
It would be interesting to see what the crowds would look like if the Liverpool "B" team had more English players than the Liverpool "A" team.
When I played in Oz the reserves played at the same venue at 1:00 pm as the first played at 3:00pm. No prima donnas worried about the pitch being cut up.
