We're the first team to ensure mathematical safety from relegation
Now that's sorted, let's see what else we can manage between now and the end of April

Let's not forget that some were predicting how we would be relegated again back in July and August and those who suggested it might be good to let Clarke do his job for a while were labelled as blind optimists

We are staying up, said we are staying up! Well at least we can celebrate this now. Perhaps the team can relax a bit and play a bit more as that worry is ended. Onwards and upwards.

several on this forum predicted relegation this season,,,where are they now? I don't think anyone actually predicted relegation. Many said they thought it was possible we could go down again given how badly we have been run as a club and the trajectory of decline over the last decade; what they were doing was arguing against people who thought we'd hit rock bottom by pointing out you can always fall further as Rovers have consistently proven. That's not the same thing as predicting relegation.

That was the case with me anyway - a number of people said 'well at least we're at rock bottom now, the only way is up' - and I recall pointing out that the Conference is the TOP of the non-league pyramid and there is still plenty or legroom to slump further (Conference South and lower)! I didn't expect us to get relegated. But then again I must admit I didn't expect us to be top either - I expected mid-table to fringe of play-offs. The thing is there's still just under a quarter of a season left and still all to play for. In some quarters (Twatter and the other forum in particular) it feels like it's 'job done' now we're top we'll stay there. In fact, if we lose on Sat and Barnet win, they're a point above us again with a game in hand - all if's and but's but shows that it can all change so quickly!

On the other hand, if we win and Barnet lose, we'll be 5 points clear and they will have a game in hand. Their game in hand is at Halifax, who are looking good, remember.
