After their gloating at us end of last season and also this season I've noticed a couple of wind up post from them on our forum, what I would give for us to go up and them to stay down so we can go and kick the s**t out of their cocky faces! Revenge is sweet Gasheads? here's to hoping! UTG!

Tbf, we deserved everything we got for invading their pitch and for the songs sung at them that day.

Only heard it on radio as I wasn't there but just general winding up of them going down and us staying up.
Can you imagine if we were at home and Wycombe stormed our pitch and then taunted us at our ground?!

I actually think our fans were absolved when one Gashead paid for all of our sins by breaking his fist on the face of a horse.

Would you love it if we beat them, love it?

Not sure what we did wrong at Wycombe.
Most of the singing was about us staying up rather than them looking like they would be relegated.
As for 'invading' the pitch, a few people spilled over the hoardings when Clarkeson scored, no malice in it, and at the end the gates were opened and the Police and stewards allowed us to walk onto the grass to applaud the team. It wasn't exactly a riot!
But that club have been a thorn in our sides since our first relegation to L2. Even last season, it was one of their blokes cheating, throwing himself on the floor and pretending that Clarkeson had punched him in the face which probably cost us that game, even if we had drawn that day, that one extra point for us and 2 less for them would have made all the difference.
For me they are right up there with City, Swindon and Liverpool as clubs that it's quite easy to dislike.
Having said all of that, our conduct writing letters complaining about them bending rules to achieve a competitive advantage was, frankly, desperate and embarrassing.

They were found to have done that though. Historically, and already addressed by a hearing. If it worried us that much why didn't we form a pact with other clubs and collectively request that the situation be looked at again prior to us being relegated. Desperate and embarrassing.

Revenge is sweet Gasheads? here's to hoping! UTG! I sortof get what you're saying, but are we making up a rival where one doesn't really exist? Wycombe seem to have been instrumental in our relegations this century, but I really think that is more our fault than theirs. So it feels like a transference of blame to them (even though a small minority gloat on forum). I understand the coincidence, the frustration, the secular rivalry, and even them trying to copy our quarters, but they are a club that probably doesn't regard us with any more or less reverence than any other (save local rivals)

cant really see what we have to blame ww for, we were too crap to beat them in league one and went down, then all we had to do was beat mid table mansfield and we couldnt even manage on s**tty goal, blaming someone else makes us look total nobs, and as usual provide the 82mob with another good laugh, time to forget, win this league, and get some pride back.

Meh.
They stayed up because we lost to Mansfield. The legal action was an embarrassing joke, and the abandoned match was years ago and made no difference to us.
The way some "fans" behaved after the abandonment is reason for them to dislike us a bit, but I can't see what they've really done for us to hate them except beating and relegating us in 2001 but again that was our ineptitude.

I agree - but it's funny how you end up disliking certain random clubs. Lots of people still have issues with Notts County and I spent years looking for the Northampton result and hoping they lost. I got over that eventually and I kind of think we should probably get over the Wycombe thing - set our sights a little higher in terms of rivalry. It's strange when they first came up into the league Rovers fans really quite liked them- fans even tried to bond over the Quarters thing. They were there for what we thought at the time was our last game at Twerton.

Can't really take to them as a rival, seeing as they only have a handful of fans
