Was outstanding today, reminded me of Steve Elliott at his best. Player of the Season for me so far, keep it up Tom!

Thought the back line was very good again today, Parkes stood out massively though and was deserved MOTM!

Growing in stature every game - and the only mid-defender who has the guts to run with the ball out of defence

Good thing is, he is young. We can get many years out of him and he will only improve.

Ward was a disgrace letting him get so out of shape, perhaps he was to blame for our relegation as NH suggested last summer.
If we don't go up I doubt we can afford to offer him a new contract anyway?

Maybe slipping down to non league footy was the kick up the behind he needed to get his career back on track.

Stripped of the captaincy because of it, but now showing what he's capable of. DC also said something about him 'moving on to greater things' or similar

I think it's great to see a young lad with potential rise above the challenges of the game to produce some of the best, confident football of his career. Even if he hadn't scored, his imposing force made him a m o m candidate.
Credit to him for fighting back with toned up physique that reflects a zenith, rather than Kenneth (!)
Also credit, maybe, to unseen coaching from Steve Yates and a wily DC whom never gave up on him..

Was outstanding today, reminded me of Steve Elliott at his best. Player of the Season for me so far, keep it up Tom! At the begining of the season, he wasn`t so great. He looked like he thought he was too good to be playing non league football. Away to Altrincham and Braintree, he was an absolute liability with his attitude and his standard of play. But he has improved massively. Great performance yesterday, and ably assisted by McChrystal.

DC also said something about him 'moving on to greater things' or similar I don't think it's just that. I think he was guilty of hitting the gym too hard. A lot of big younger centre back seem to think bulking up is the way to go but then they lose the little mobility they had to start with. Steve Elliot seem to become a much better defender when he appeared noticeably less stacked.

Wasn't DC slated by the majority for his comments about Parkes being overweight unfit and stripping him of being captain, now it seems like the majority think it was a masterstroke from DC. Even Parkes himself said he was grateful for the manager putting a rocket up him, like I've said before last season was grandad Ward letting the grandkids run wild and do what they want.

Good thing is, he is young. We can get many years out of him and he will only improve. You're right in saying that he is young, and that we can get many years out of him. All providing that he decides that he wants to stay here, and that we want him to stay of course. Clearly the determining factors will be money, and his form. Assuming that something good happens in a couple of months time, then I would expect that talks about a new contract would be underway asap. But if that were not to be the case then I really don't think that Rovers would be in a position to offer the player the sort of deal that he is probably looking for. I was half expecting him to leave in the January window, but clearly he didn't. I wonder if there were any enquiries for him? But with so many players (and the manager as well, of course) being out of contract shortly, it will be a very interesting close season . . . whatever division we're playing in.

DC was slated by the majority for his comments about Parkes being overweight unfit and stripping him of being captain. Funny how all the ones who like to deny it happened are the very ones who's pitchforks must now be getting dusty.
