I have some sympathy for Lambert - he's fulfilling the role that manager's were invented for. He's carried the can for an owner who isn't prepared to invest enough in Villa to make them compete at the level they're playing at. Villa really deserve to go down but I feel Lambert is entitled to feel a bit cheated - he moved from Norwich to Villa because he thought he was going to a big club and they haven't behaved like it. They'll probably stay up though.
