White Hart Lane. Slightly off-topic as of course no football is being played there at the moment. Cylced down and was expecting to see something like the Arsenal stadium - but with some residual work still being done. Recent news released that they had failed some safety certificates and were "3-6 months" away from playing their first game there. No they're not! A massive building site and a huge amount still to be done on basic infrastructure. Couple of ST holders I know have already given up hope that they will play there this season... and that fans have been taken for a ride. Season ticket prices have soared for a majority of fans. The build costs are still spiraling. Estimated final bill is now expected to exceed £1bil. One Billion Pounds. (And that is in a pretty sh*tty piece of north London). Does this have anything to do with the Gas? Well - looks like even the premiersh*t big boys have trouble moving to a new Stadium, making the numbers work and keeping the fans happy... Levy has announced more games at Wembley now. I can't say I'm too surprised, from the outside looking in the timing always looked suspect. I think Spurs approached it with the best intentions but clearly things have spiralled away from them and I'm not shocked Spurs didn't spend during this window. As for supporters, I completely understand their frustration but they're getting a brand new stadium on the site of their old one. They have to be delighted with that, they could after all have ended up with the Olympic Stadium... Plenty of articles about the pricing... this is particularly scathing. www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2018/mar/26/time-for-spurs-repair-relationship-fans-ticketsIt's almost as if fans are getting a brand new stadium - but effectively funding it themselves. A bit like getting an upgrade to bar facilities and then hiking the price of a pint to £4. Oh, hang on.

chewbacca - I bow to your superior ground hopping exploits. I am in Prague this weekend for my wedding anniversary - both Sparta and Slavia are at home. It's going to be difficult to get it past the missus - but have you been to either? Do you reckon maybe pushing my luck a little sporting the blue & white quarters? I think there are Ultras at both teams and they both play in red. Your advice appreciated...

It's second only to Sparta - Slavia in terms of Derby's in the Czech Republic. Both teams are based in the Vršovice district and atmosphere's can be "tasty". To save a bit of time around the game I'd get your tickets in advance here. Although it'll be easy enough to pick up tickets...

Much appreciated. I hadn't realised that Bohemians were Prague based and that it was a derby. Bohemians/Slavia are only just over a 1km apart. And I'm only staying about 2 1/2 miles away so should be easy enough. Now just have the relatively simple task of persuading my long suffering wife it's a 'good idea'. Mnohokrát děkuji.

If you can try and head to Strahov Stadium, it's the second biggest stadium ever built. You take a funicular railway to get there, it was used for large scale gymnastic displays. Now it's Slavia's training ground.

While we are picking your brains Chewy, any idea of games in the Coventry area Wednesday and Thursday this week? There is nothing as far as I can see in either Evo stik league and I'm not really sure how to find anything below that.

Dudley Town vs Malvern Town Worcester City vs Quorn Both on Wednesday, there’s a couple more further afield but they’re probably the best two. Dudley play at an athletics stadium, Worcester share with Sporting Bromsgrove.

Usually use Non-League Matters, then just work on rough areas.

Chewie - how do you get those pictures to appear in this thread?
I can't seem to do it and better late than never I have some picture from my summer jaunt to watch FC United play at Austria Salzberg I'd like to put up on here.

Oh, I just google image searched those from the Derby. I used to use ones I’ve posted on twitter, pied that off now. There’s plenty of image hosting websites you can use though... Imgur is decent.

Nope - I just can't seem to get the picture up.Annoying! Anyway - if you haven't been there add Austria Salzburg to your list of grounds to visit...... Very nice - spectacular mountain setting, brilliant non-league ultras and a good punk football cause. Also near enough to the City Centre to make it pretty easy to get to.

Knackered now. Only managed three games on Saturday: MSV Duisburg 1 - 3 Jahn Regensburg The Zebras were absolutely dreadful, defending similarly to a team one goal behind in the 93rd minute. Chucking men forward without a care in the world and shocked to be 2-0 down within the first 14 minutes. They got one back before half time but Regendsburg extended their lead with a second half penalty. MSV are bottom and the atmosphere in my opinion was hit by this. Decent ground but only about a third full. 5/10 Schalke 1 - 0 Mainz Arena AufSchalke held England's World Cup Quarter Final against Portugal in 2006, a futuristic 62,000 capacity arena at the time it's already starting to look a bit dated if not very interesting. Schalke went into the game struggling without any points this season. They did however graft out a 1-0 win thanks to a first half goal that I was a bit too pissed to remember to be fair. We were the opposite end to the Ultras and above the Mainz supporters. A good atmosphere and decent currywurst. 7/10 Bayer Leverkusen 2 - 4 Borussia Dortmund 4 I'd already been to the BayArena but my friend hadn't so we caught the free train down to Lev to watch this kinda derby match. The match was a sell out with BVB supporters taking up a good third of the stadium with many in the "home" end. Lev raced into a two goal lead thanks to a mix of sluggish defending and attractive attacking football. In the second half BVB got one back before introducing Jadon Sancho. Get this boy in the England squad. An assist for the second, a decoy run from an offside position basically killing the Lev defenders for the third and another assist for the fourth. He's the most assists in Europe's top five leagues this season and averages a goal or an assist every 25 seconds. On Saturday he took the roof off. 9/10 Rot-Weiss Essen 0 - 1 Alemannia Aachen Essen Stadion was the destination on Sunday for a fourth tier derby between two "historic" clubs, the game wasn't much to watch but standing on the Westtribune protests started about Police treatment of supporters in both the home and away end. Aachen took the lead with a well worked goal in the first half at RWE never really threatened. Again not the best atmosphere but entertaining enough. 5/10

It was okay, but the bloke at the turnstiles directed me through to the senior citizens entrance! Still, saved me £4 During the game, the ball bounced into the crowd, and without taking my hat off or my hands out of my pockets I made a delightful little cushioned header straight to the Weymouth left back enabling him to go for the quick throw, this may go down as my finest moment on (or near) a football pitch, Bognor Regis Town v Folkestone Invicta in the Isthmian League for me on Tuesday night .

Did Wales vs Spain last week, The Millennium Stadium is not a football stadium. Wales are right to play their games at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Formulating a plan with my Dad to go to Kiev after the winter break to watch Dynamo. Cheap flights from Gatwick and seems like an interesting place.

Flights booked to Ukraine, £70 return with BA from Heathrow so it's a goer. Ukrainian Premier League fixtures are all staggered so we'll be getting in two games;
Arsenal Kyiv vs Desna, Valeriy Lobanovskyi Dynamo Stadium. Dynamo Kyiv vs Zorya, NSC Olimpiyskiy.
Valeriy Lobanovskyi Dynamo Stadium

Arsenal rent Dynamo's old stadium and Dynamo rent the Olympic stadium. Odd but true!
