According to Conference rules
7. CLUB COLOURS 7.1 On or before a date specified by the Company each year, every Club shall notify the General Manager, in writing, of details of their first choice colours for outfield players and their goalkeeper (shirts, shorts and socks) and such details shall be printed in the Handbook published by the Company for the ensuing Playing Season. The colours registered by each Club shall be worn during the following season when playing at home. 7.2 When playing away from home, clubs must play in colours (shirts, shorts and socks) which are clearly distinguishable from those of their opponents and the Match Officials, in particular the goalkeeper must play in kit clearly distinguishable from the colours of the shirts worn by all other Players in the match and the Match Officials. Neck and cuff rim colours on shirts are not regarded as basic colours for the purpose of this Rule. Subject to the foregoing a Club may, if it wishes, wear colours not registered with the Competition for away matches. It is the responsibility of the visiting Club to check that their colours will not clash.
So if manager Darrell Clarke decided Lincoln City could not loan their yellow kit (according to radio Bristol interview because "he was still having nightmares after the Mansfield match") Are Rovers in breach as they failed to play at home in their registered kit ?
Plus I guess Lincoln are in breach fro failing to check colour clash ?

I suppose common sense prevailed, the fans who travelled from Lincoln at least saw a game, we got 3 points, I believe bread and potatoes still cost same as yesterday, other than that I'm not sure what else there is to say.

Unless you are partially sighted does sky blue really clash with the quarters? Anyway whilst these are the rules what's the penalties for breaking them?

I must admit bit like Man City v Chelsea to me in shirt colours but guess it will go in refs report and I feel both clubs will be fined for breach
Failure to play in registered home kit and Lincoln not checking with Rovers that their kit clashed before the match.

We don't have a good record against teams playing in our own shirts.
Not just versus Mansfield last season: a few years before at The Mem, was it Rochdale turned up without a kit? Ended up using our stone / grey change strip (" 'cos it goes well with jeans") and beating us, if I recall.

How about a post that says "the ref decided that both teams could play in the kits that they agreed on"?

Think Barnet should be deducted 10 points for this.

I think we should have enforced our right to play in first choice colours, and offered Lincoln the opportunity to play in our pink alternative.
Discuss-ting..

Lincoln play in red and white stripes - we play in B&WQs - WTF are they doing bringing an all Blue kit, it wasn't really Sky Blue, quite a bit darker than Cov or ManCiteh

No point in fining a club who already have financial difficulties!! The game was played and at the end of the day does it really matter what colours the teams were in as long as they were identifiable from each other? We won.lets move on!!

If a fine is the punishment, then the fact they have financial issues shouldn't come in to it.....all rules apply to all teams

Each club should hold a strip that does not clash with the home team, consisting of a hat with 'Numpty' written on it, a shirt of various coloured polka dots with a laxative firm as sponsor, a jock strap, fish net tights for socks and clown shoes for the away team for such instances.

The fact they left the red & white stripes at home & brought an all blue kit to Bristol Rovers away is quite unbelievable!
