I agree but I think DC prefers workers to good players and will go again with Lockyer and Mansell and probably put Balanta and Dawson back on the bench where he seems to like to put skilful players even those who he has signed!!!

I don't think he'll be quite so reserved at home Steve. I'd go with the OP's line-up because Lockyer cannot distribute at all well enough to be considered a replacement for Sinclair in the middle of the park. I'd try Monkhouse in there or even the new boy, although I don't think he'll feature much because he didn't exactly do well at Torquay earlier this season.

RB do you think we are going back to the days of taking people on loan and keeping them as bench warmers....? I certainly hope not!

Clarke has already said that new players will have to earn the right to start games. I cant see the new player Wakefield getting a start on Saturday.
I think he will go with this...
---------------Puddy/Mildenhall----------- Leadbitter--McChrystal--Parkes--Brown --------------------Lockyer------------------ -----Monkhouse---Mansell---Gosling----- --------------Blissett---Taylor----------------

I don't think so generally Cheshire, but I am not entirely convinced that Wakefield will be a regular starter. It smacks of being a short-term signing purely to cover Sinclair as opposed to being an out-and-out signing that improves us. I hope I'm wrong though! I certainly hope Dawson gets given some game time because he is highly rated and could be a huge player between now and the end of the season.

If Dawson doesn't start on Saturday the best we'll get his two second half sub appearances, how can DC judge a player on that before his loan spell is up? Surely Wakefield must start over Lockyer on Saturday, or let Monkhouse have a go in the middle, with Balanta & Dawson on the wings, who knows we may even create a few chances for the strikers?

I think some on here are a bit confused regarding the one month loan signings. I don't expect for one moment that someone on a months loan will go straight into the team. To do so could cause some upset within the squad, and surely the duty of the Manager is to play his own players first. The one month loan signings are either just cover for the existing squad, or it's a very good chance to have a look at a player. See how he trains, how he gels with the other members of the squad, how he lives his life off the pitch, with all of this going towards a view to sign the player long term. The one month loans are a great opportunity to have a decent look at a player, and I think this has been the view behind most of the one month loans. It also gives the player himself a chance to have a look at the club, a look at the Bristol area and help him decide if this is somewhere he would like to live and work?
It's surely better to have a player for a month to have a look at him (and him at us) rather than sign him and then learn he's not quite what you expected?

Mildenhall Lockyer Macca Parkes Browner Gosling Monkhouse Mansell Dawson Taylor Harrison Blissett, Balanta, Wakeman, Trotman, Leadbitter/Puddy Sounds about right to me. Despite Mildy's 2 errors at Dartford we should keep that solid back 5 together. Lockyer is not a mid-fielder. Monkey is a bit wasted out wide and is also good at getting forward from centre-mid. Think we will probably find Blissett starting ahead of Harrison, but personally would also like to see Ellis start a few games.

If I was Puddy, I'd be very disappointed not to start.

Does Monkhouse have the work-rate to play alongside Mansell in the middle and us not to be over-ran?
