We've just signed Ryan Brunt. A tad sceptical but I imagine he's only been brought in as back up/competition for Reuben Reid. Thoughts? Signing a permanently crocked striker who cant get a game in non league on an 18 month deal is crazy. Maybe you will be lucky as he looked ok two years ago

Perhaps worth a punt on the off chance that he miraculously rediscovers his former glory, but I was very surprised to see that he had been given an 18 month contract. He looks shot to pieces to be honest.

Plymouth and Brunt will always remind me of the away game there last season where during the warm up it didn't matter where I sat, and believe me I did try moving seats, Brunt seemed to manage to hit my general area whilst they were doing shooting practice.

Brunty is quality just that the gas never saw the best iof him. My mate is a Stevenage fan and says Brunty was their star player whilst out on loan with them he's and gutted they didn't sign him. I suspect we will see Brunty excel at Plymouth. Good luck Brunty.

Problem is they are comparing him to Beardsley! Even his loan spell there was cut short by yet another injury.

Obviously Clsrke and Stewie didn't see that same quality otherwise he wouldn't have gone out on loan and wouldn't have had his contract cancelled now. I thought he was the fittest player on the park when he joined from Stoke and that was obviously part of the Pulis ethos, he seemed to lose that fitness pretty quick with us though. Without that high energy to his game he was pretty poor. So maybe for Argyle if you get him Pulis fit you might have a player, that's you're only hope though I think.

I hope there is a cash prize for putting the word 'brunty' into a paragraph more times than anyone else in history (or than is necessary) as you'll be quids in!

If he can get back to the same level of fitness of 2 years ago then Plymouth have made a good signing. But it strikes me that his recovery process will be at best long and we couldn't wait for that. If he is to be successful at Plymouth then I think it's more likely it will be next season rather this. However, if what Plymouth need in the short term is a target man type player to hold the ball up and be awkward then it's a reasonable signing as he can still do that pretty well. What he seems to have lost is the ability to turn which is what made him so dangerous. Understandably he also seemed a bit tentative and lacking confidence which you'd hope would come back once he started trusting his body again - tricky when you've had such a bad run of terrible injuries like he has. I thought it looked like this one had taken it's toll though - just seemed a few yards slower than before and that can make all the difference. I really hope he can resurrect his career though as he's rotten luck.
