We've just signed Ryan Brunt.
A tad sceptical but I imagine he's only been brought in as back up/competition for Reuben Reid.
Thoughts?

Pre-injuries, very good.
Post-injuries, horrific.

see the Ryan Brunt thread. He looked good, got some injuries, never been quite the same again - although he's young so there's no reason why he shouldn't get it back eventually
big, strong, good attitude. Well, apart from having the registration number 'Brunty'

Not the same player since his injury, a trier but taking him on a 18 month contract is a real gamble. Also cannot remember the last goal he scored its been a long time

If he stays fit you have a very good player who could certainly play League 1, maybe even the Championship. Can play the loan striker role but is far better in a front 2. I would have thought he would link up well with Rueben Reid...wouldn't be too many better forward lines in League 2, I'd have thought.

Mind you the last time you signed a Rovers player with chronic fitness issues this happened...

It's a bit of a punt for PAFC. Ryan Brunt definitely has the ability to do well, but injuries have taken their toll on him, and a lot depends on whether he can not only recover physically but also recover his will and determination.
Obviously a lot depends on whether he can stay injury-free. If he can then I feel that he will be an excellent signing for you.

I desperately want him to do well.
Treated unfairly by a segment of our fans this season, the treatment he got at Altrincham was a disgrace.
You'll have a good player if you help him get and stay fit.

He must have a very good agent to be getting these moves to football league clubs, but he is a shadow of the player he was pre-injury, from what i've seen of him this season it seemed like he had lost all of his footballing ability, i thought it was because he wasn't fully fit but he is and now has the chance to try and kick start his career at Plymouth.

I believe that he is with the same management group as Adam Dawson (4-4-2 Football Management)

Well he got good reviews from York and Stevenage who he went out on loan to earlier this season. As others have said if he gets his fitness back and the form that he had when he first came to us you'll have one hell of a player. We're not absolutely certain how well he has recovered from the dreadful injury he sustained at the beginning of last season but the vast majority of us wish him well.

Top guy, as others say he's a trier who used his own money for specialist treatment to try and get fit again. He hasn't scored a goal since 2013 though.

I'm a Rovers fan studying in Plymouth, when I watched you this season in your 3-0 against Portsmouth you really needed nothing more I thought you were excellent, Brunt is awful now imo and his best game for me was the 2-1 against Barnet I think it was where he scored a winner in extra time.

Brunt missed all last season with a recurrance of his old knee problems, struggled with us in the Conference struggled at York, did better at Stevenage but then suffered an ankle injury curtailing his loan spell, meaning he hasn't scored a goal at any level for nearly two seasons - draw your own conclusions from that info!!

If you have good backroom staff, he might be alright. If not, consider him revenge for Gary Sawyer.

He failed to win a single header for the first 60+ minutes, it was so noticeable.

I agree that he was dire, as was the whole team. But it doesn't justify calling him a CU Next Tuesday does it?
