There is NOTHING I said that indicated or implied that BRFC are reluctant to complete all terms of the Contract, that is a farcical statement.
NH wants his "loans" repaid and from what I gather, the sooner the better.
It appears certain supporters still have an "agenda".
Is this the infamous Hidden one ? the hidden one ?

When do we start the Bristol Rovers liberation front, if they do not buy the mem there is one easy solution we all go to a sainsbury's and fill up a trolley and just walk out the shop leaving them with 6,000 trolleys to empty every week in there store. This is peaceful direct action which would get a result. I take it you mean walk out without the trolley? Yes

So are you implying that Bristol Rovers have the power to complete the conditions but are reluctant to do so for one reason or another? I'm assuming that the only reason they wouldn't want to complete the contract is that the figures don't stack up and they can't afford to build The UWE. So we could be in a situation where neither side are keen to complete the deal but if Rovers admit it they will lose any right to compensation if any were due. There is NOTHING I said that indicated or implied that BRFC are reluctant to complete all terms of the Contract, that is a farcical statement.

Surely if NH sells the Mem to Sainsbury's he then as no alternative but to press ahead with the UWE, given that NH admits the UWE will no longer be debt free how his he going to pay off all his loans, there seems a short fall somewhere? Some of us always thought the figures didn't stack up but those ITK always claimed it was fully funded. It seems now if a Bahrain oil shiek doesn't come up with £millions we probably can't even complete the contract, you couldn't make it up! Perhaps it's finally game up for NH?

Then I misread the point that you are trying to make. Have all the terms been met and if not why not?

This is the question every Gashead should be asking.
I'm sure NH would like this sorted out before the end of the month.

What are you suggesting will happen to the £30m, if Sainsbury pays us.
I am interested, as I am Shareholder.

Yeah but then if Sainsburys do pay us then the club will have to come up with an excuse to not build it seeing as NH is telling us this is his whole thing

But you raised the point about NH wanting his loans paid off, if that's going to happen then the full £30m received from Sainsbury's isn't going to just go towards building the UWE? As far as another poster saying building costs have risen given inflation in the UK is virtually zero is there any hard evidence building costs have risen by any great sum, which can't be met by just scaling back on fitting on the gym etc? Le

Le If you read the original statements by Nick Higgs he clearly states the money from Sainsburys is ring fenced with a 3rd party and can ONLY be used for UWE Stadium development.

When Sainsbury's settles for whatever sum is agreed the creditors secured against the stadium will be paid up unless they agree otherwise, there will be some tax to pay and some advisors fees, whatever is left will I presume be used to tart up the Mem.

I take it you mean walk out without the trolley? Yes Surely far more effective if 6,000 us turn up together at the Filton branch and walk out with the loaded trolleys. If you'd all like to start in the fruit & veg aisle, I'll do my best on the spirits aisle

The UK Government (BIS) publish quarterly price and cost index data for the construction sector. www.gov.uk/government/statistics/bis-quarterly-construction-price-and-cost-indices-january-to-march-2014For the year to Sept 2014 the general price increase across the sector was 6.0%, but some sectors (Private Commercial) rose by up to 9.0%, i.e. building prices are rising far in excess of inflation. The current trend in lowering oil prices may have a knock on effect (price reduction) in the next year. If we say 6% p.a. in the 2 years since the planning permission was granted, the building cost of the UWE would have therefore gone up by £4.9m from the original £40m build price.

Nick Higgs is a hard nosed veteran in construction he will grind ever contract down don't worry about that and by the way I work in the building industry and I'm not seeing 6% pa increases also just watching Hamilton v celtic now and a brand new sainsburys at one end of the ground not sure if they were involved in the redevelopment of the ground but just shows that it's not all like southends farce

Just think of the man hours and chaos it would cost trying to put all the items back on the shelves.

If we had got/get the £30m from Sainsbury's then we'd still be £10m short, even ignoring the debts/loans owed to the Directors of circa £10m? Pay them off and we're suddenly £20m short. I still can't understand why a £15m/£20m stadium, with room to expend, wasn't planned from day one, as it seems the UWE was never viable from day one w/o massive external investment.

i've been told by someone in the construction business that due to brick works closing down during the recession British made bricks are in short supply and expensive at the moment, and this country is currently importing heavily from Belgium. given the latest construction sector inflation figures this is possibly true. if you pop over the channel consider buying and bringing back a few bricks to donate or sell to NH, though i don't know what the import duty will be and we still don't know if the building of the UWE stadium is to start any time soon!
