From the word "minnows" to the explanation of where Bristol is at the end, the whole article is embarrassing and desperate.
It's also clear that Higgs is prepared to be more candid when speaking to the Bahrain Evening Post than he is when talking directly to Rovers supporters. Poor show.

This does look like it might be Plan B
Or Plan A, Part II, if the Sainsburys cash arrives and pays off the debts first

Listening to the audio link. Higgs confirms there is now a shortfall in the potential money to build the UWE. Is this the last act of a desperate man knowing Sainsburys deal is on the brink?

Very attractive proposition to an investor one would think, given that NH states we have no big debt burden and a 'clean sheet' anyone know who has paid off the existing debt reported on here previously to be circa £8m? No one. The debt at the club is mostly owed to the directors.
Is it? How much was borrowed from the venture capitalists recently?

Seems like a catch 22 to me, no stadium = no investment, no investment = no stadium. I can't imagine anyone serious would be willing to invest in a business basing themselves at the Mem.

It is good that the club are seeking new investors but it is disappointing that we are not already some way down the road with this "plan B" - this article would not have been necessary if we were. We are so starved of information about wat is really going on that any news that does break has to be closely examined and read in between the lines not just at face value. What we can determine from this story I think is;- Sainsburys are not going to pay up without a long fight. There is no plan B at this moment in time. Unless we get significant new investment the new stadium is not going to happen. pretty much how i see it this FTB i think if sainsburys offer decent [ money to repay nh] compensation then itll be taken and nh will move on and out

Anyone remember the old VW ad.......the man that put everything on red and black came up etc, etc.........the club that built their future on the student letting market that then plunged, then the future was big supermarkets....no one wants one those now......I know, oil money what could go wrong...ooops
is it just me or are we all doomed

What fool would look to oil exporters for investment at the moment?? They are probably taking a bigger kicking than the supermarkets as the prices they can charge haven't dropped by 50%+ in 6 months?
We do seem up the creak without a paddle at the moment.

I dont think you will get much interest from a tiny country such as Bahrain which isnt anywhere near as rich as its neighbours.

Well, we're basically at the bottom of the dip now so more 2-3 years. That said, the Saudi's can keep prices down for a couple of years if they want to. That'll basically destroy the Russian economy which, would be pretty funny. My Dad isn't best pleased sat on a load of BP shares though.
