DJ Campbell played a few games for maidenhead earlier this season and smashed it, the differences in level and ability are massive.

At the very worst it would be exciting for a bit, and would demonstrate some ambition. So what the hell.

If Easter was here on a deal until the end of the season on reasonable wages plus bonus, I can’t see there is much to lose and possibly a bit to gain.
I wouldn’t want to be offering him anything beyond the end of the season depending on if we go up or stay up and how he performs obviously

I wouldn’t want to be offering him anything beyond the end of the season depending on if we go up or stay up and how he performs obviously That was my first thought, regarding contract length. Thinking again though, maybe a 1 1/2 year deal wouldn't be too bad - with his name being so well known, it surely wouldn't be hard to offload him if necessary. Wages would be the only issue.

DJ Campbell played a few games for maidenhead earlier this season and smashed it, the differences in level and ability are massive. I’m also a Maidenhead fan. DJ Campbell has been largely disappointing, so far, in his sporadic appearances for us. On the score sheet again, against Hayes & Yeading on New Year’s Day, but then went off with a(nother) hamstring injury. A friend of mine, who is a York Road season ticket holder, also mentioned to me, before Xmas, that he was among a handful of supporters who travelled on the team coach to a game at Whitehawk (nr Brighton) earlier in the season. Campbell apparently declined to travel on the bus and instead followed behind, in his Chelsea Tractor, with our manager (Johnson ‘Drax’ Hippolyte; described as his ‘father figure’) in the passenger seat! Drax and Martin Allen are good mates and it has been said that the plan was for Campbell to get fit with us before joining Barnet.

Given Easter has appeared recently in Millwall's first team one would hope, unlike it seems DJ, that he's match fit.

Matt Tubbs scored 7 in 36 for Bournemouth in League one.
Plenty of strikers with poor FL records score plenty in the Conference. Remember Gall, Akinde?

I hope that Easter signs, and for the right reasons - after a successful career in which he has played as high as the Premiership, he can now afford the luxury of dropping down a few levels and play a major part in Rovers back-to-back-to-back promotions, before retiring to an ambassadorial role with the club of which he is now a terrace legend.
If he signs for the teds i hope its for money

Has he ever been a prolific goal scorer at any club, I genuinely don't know.

What sort of prolific striker do we expect to sign? Were a conference club striving to get back in the football league. No prolific striker is going to come here. Jamie White was the last prolific striker and look where that got us.

Bradley Goldberg was hugely prolific at Bromley last year but hardly had a look in here and when he does looks ordinary in the extreme! Easter would be a good signing if he is really up for it, otherwise best left.
Wonder if we have considered Hamiltons u20 striker Eamon Brophy who could be available on loan. Scored at goal more than a game in the table topping Hamilton SPL u20 side.

done deal according to chap who tipped it earlier....
Hi All Jermaine Easter will have his medical Monday and will then sign for the club.I am sorry i could not give more info when i broke this story last wednesday. As far as Jermaine was concerned this was a done done deal.As you are all aware DC met with Jermaine in November.Rovers expressed their interest in signing him but it depended on two major factors.A) They were not willing to pay a fee.B) They would not match his championship wages. It is well documented that Jermaine was keen to come back to South Wales and he was prepared to take a pay cut for this to happen. The only sticking point in the deal would depend on if Millwall would cancel his contract and take a loss. This all happened Wednesday and even though he has been offered terms from league clubs the combination of DC,location and the ambition the club have shown has meant Rovers will sign a talented and happy player. Many thanks for all the responses to my first post, especially the journalist who contacted me for my source. And for all the sceptics who thought this was all bulls@@t i understand as many people post on forums saying they are "In the Know".In the future i will post what i know, but as i did with this story check for 100% reliability first. Many Thanks and heres to you getting promotion

He scored 20 in a season for MKDonalds FC in 09/10, if he does sign let's hope we see that player.

Well, as I understand it, it was the bloke who wrote the Paul Randall biography. So, he has some credibility.
