Evening all
First post on the Gas messageboard as I have only lived in Bristol for a couple of weeks - near Filton so not too shabby at all!!!
Am quite a big footy fan from my northern roots and think I am moving towards Rovers rather than City so took the plunge and went to Friday nights game!
Highly enjoyable, great 3 points - just slightly confused by the reaction at full-time. Perhaps me being naïve - but it was almost like "we" had won the league or something rather significant! so after all the celebrations and a few pints (It was Friday) I got home, had a first proper look at the table and after Barnet winning today they are still 9 points clear?!?
I know a good win but was the celebration more to ensure the play-offs or do we think we can catch Barnet? Whats more, 8,000 of us and they struggle to get 1,500???!?!
What's going on? Is this the norm with the big crowd or are we going places? Come on the GAS

ref attendances, bournemouth are top of the championship with the lowest or near lowest average attendance so you clearly know very little about football,,,my advice would be move back up north and follow sunderland who get great crowds but achieve nothing
actually i think your profile is phoney

Come on the GAS No different to your team / supporters assuming you've won the league already in December - well your loss to Crewe yesterday makes things interesting, especially with MK hitting 7! Anyway the most obviously bogus post of the day - very poor effort young man. My advice, do your homework early before Christmas so you can enjoy the rest of the holiday before schools are back in January.

Were we all supposed to applaud politely at the end after coming from behind twice to win a game that looked a lost cause at half time? Football is all about passion and there's plenty of that at the Mem! Thats why I'm a proud Gashead. Maybe you havent been fortunate enough to support a team with such passionate fans.

Lol.
Look, let's be honest, Cotts has done an amazing job.
HOWEVER, the true test of a mgr is when thinge aren't quite going right. It will be interesting to see how he handles the next month or so.
Even a s**thead must be worried at how they lost to 2 huge rivals for promotion (swindon & Preston), and now the bottom team as well. That big lead has evaporated pretty quickly.

I think MK Dons will get top spot in that league. they have gone something like 12 games now without lose in the league, they are creating chances in abundance putting 7 past Oldham Saturday... 6 past Colchester last month and beating Swindon last month....the team to watch in my opinion. I think the 82ers will without doubt make the play offs, its just a case of whether or not they bottle it???

A wise choice Daniel, you have had a lucky escape. North Bristol for football, BS3 for bad behaviour en masse. Secretly they want to be us, we are unique , loyal and seasoned, they are the antithesis. Welcome to the forum, never talk about the "others" ever again. They are inconsequential. We are at the inception of an exciting era. Filton a fine suburb indeed, populated by some of the staunchest gasheads you could wish to meet.
