Whilst the Bulls fan are celebrating getting rid of the "cockney mafia" you do wonder how they will be able to survive at Edgar St if they have to to start again in the equivalent of the Western League, I suppose it would be ironic now if they had to move out of Edgar St because they couldn't afford to still run it. The former Chairman really sold them down the river taking them from a established league club to virtual oblivion. How do you start again ? One assumes there is a hard core of Hereford fans who will go wherever the 'new' Hereford team play, much like when Newport County reformed but who starts it off ?! HUST are working alongside Supporters Direct, Supporters Direct helped to set up AFC Wimbledon, Chester FC, FC United of Manchester & Merthyr Town among others. All of those clubs have seen success since reforming and I'm sure we'll see a fan owner club of Hereford thrive in the coming years. Today Salisbury supporters have given a name to their new club and will slog their way up from the Wessex League over the coming years.

What a shame; I always liked a night-match at Edgar Street. Their fans were a good, honest bunch. Not so sure many home fans enjoyed the league cup night match in 78

True but the person who came on here a while back didn't sound very complementary about Supporters Direct's involvement. Might just have been one person's opinion but I was surprised how hostile they seemed to be to them.

Devastating news for the loyal Bulls fans. Hopefully some good can come out of this and they get rid of the people who helped get them in this situation and rise again with a phoenix club. Chester, Halifax, Darlington, now Hereford. All once proud, smaller lower league clubs (sound familiar?) whose demise has been ignored by the Premiership obsessed media and (sadly) most football fans. Sky would sooner report on Manchester City's reserve right back twisting his ankle than the death of a proud English football club. How have we got to this? People have been brainwashed into thinking that all that matters is the Premier League. AMF

I have very little interest in any club tbh other than the gas, faceless Premier League clubs with foreign players just don't do it for me, surely if your a football fan, you go and watch football.... But apparently you should sit and watch the TV! Good luck to Hereford's fans!

Fwiw, comments from HUFC fans I've seen are to the effect that they considered their club to be lost last summer and that this news is a relief more than anything. Now they have a few months to get a new club up and running and starting next season wherever they can. Chester, Halifax, Newport, Maidstone, Telford, Darlington, Aldershot etc all show there is life after death and if they can retain a lease on Edgar Street then they have an even better chance of a swift rise back to Conference level.
