Now that is seriously bad news for BRFC, but good wishes to the player anyway.
I'm certain that he has a good future in front of him, and I hope that he remembers his time here fondly.

Still potential for a return in the new year, here's hoping.

Difficult to judge his future because you have to remember he is playing in the Conference for us and Fulham are in the Championship. Would not be surprised to see him eventually playing League 1 or League 2 Football and who knows- maybe with us. I remember a lot of people saying how far Tom Eaves would go when he was on loan to us and where is he now???-Yeovil. Its a big gap between Conference and the Championship and very few Young players will make it at a club like Fulham.

Maybe but as his appearances with us were his first experience of senior football I think he could be anything at this early stage in his career, just a pleasure to see someone in the quarters with real quality in comparison to others.I bet Martin Allen will be on alert after his performance against Barnet and their proximity to Fulham might swing it for them although Fulham may want to see how he goes in a top end league 2 team after impressing in our division.

The key issue is that we have lost the one player that could create space and get behind a defence. Without that we are doomed to hoofball, regardless of the creativity in midfield. Creative players need someone to pass to, and who will that be?

Against Barnet he tore their left back to pieces and we should have been four up, their defence were in complete disarray. Was not at Welling, who appear to be a manifestly inferior team to Barnet, but the result speaks for itself.

I pointed out we did.

agree with oldie on ldv.....he creates so many chances in front of goal, and when he has no options he can beat a player and open the game right up..
missed massively! and would go as far as to say, he could be the difference as to whether we are playing league or non league football next season.....unless a replacement is found with his quality?

Different subject. You said about getting behind the defence without LDV. I pointed out we did. Ok And then what happened? We created half a dozen chances which on another day we may have converted. Just like every other team in the world we don't convert all of our chances. LDV may have created the same half dozen chances and we may not have converted any of them. Having him on the field would not have resulted in a different result. Having Diego Costa may have increased the chances converted but then again may not have. All the players gave their all on the day and no one can say as a fact that we suffered from not having LDV on the park. We had him on the park at Wrexham for some time, but it didn't do any good in that game.

That is good reasoning, ifs buts and maybes but the bottom line is,imo, that we are 3 players short of mounting a serious challenge. two creative midfielders/wingers and someone who knows where the net is on a regular basis. But finding said players and getting them to sign is easier said than done.

Why do fans who want to Welling say we created half a dozen chances but the press only talk about Lockyer's goal bound header and the YouTube highlights don't show any great chances missed?
As far as LDV don't forget he also tore Chester apart, until he was subbed off.
You do fear Fulham won't want him returning to playing on non league pitches and risking another injury when he recovers.

Well good luck to LDV in his career as he showed a great attitude and a high level of professionalism. A very positive attribution.
And credit to Clarke and management team for sourcing him...
...As opposed to our loan signings last season, which were crock!
