If anyone really wants to see me talk about the 'Away The Gas' book and be the Rovers representation on the bi-weekly 'Subs Bench' please tune in to Made in Bristol today at 7pm (repeated 10pm). All ably hosted by Nigel Turner and Richard Latham (the Rovers expert for the Sunday Independent paper).
Topics / reports this week include the F.A. Cup beach ball, Rovers away attendances, and the Lee Haskins fight.
Freeview channel 8 in the Bristol area, plus Virgin Media ch 159 and Sky ch 117.
I am not often on TV so please be kind if I made any boobs, or was a bit bland. I was understandably a little nervous and didn't know what questions were coming up so was all off the cuff.
Funnily enough I can't watch it myself as I'm outside the Freeview broadcast reach! and don't have cable/satellite.

If anyone can post a video link to a recording of "Subs Bench" afterwards, that would be much appreciated.

Nigel and Richard seem extremely enthusiastic about local sport, down to grass roots level, which needs to be applauded when people walk around our area with Liverpool shirts on and many media outlets report more international sport than local. everything was very well organised, on time, friendly, swift, etc, and the technical staff were very much on the ball. All done with a minimum of fuss and the antithesis of the usual style over substance fodder we often get served up by expensive, advertising / license fee driven media who pay millions to 'celebs' and concentrate on people who are not what I would consider role models in modern life.

Geoff was extremely professional and genuinely interested and it was a real pleasure. It's still available online at www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02c9y7jIt starts at 54.40 mins and lasts about 5 minutes if anyone wants to listen.

The most unprofessional bit so far was courtesy of 'Bristol Sport'. During Steve Cotterill's post-match interview these hands suddenly appeared behind him, trying to slide the sponsors board away.

Can't get it in Wales as that channel is required by regulation to show local regional news

You did well Martin and remember Adam Baker is a pro PR man. Nigel Turner is a great guy who works hard in the area for our clubs in ALLS sports although, like me,his passion in boxing. His YouTube channel is very good Nigel Turner TV and may have your interview on it. He is wing commander on Twitter. Good job mate. You did well.

Thanks for your kind words everyone! My nervousness must mainly be internal then, and also my own disappointment at rarely saying what I really want to say in these interviews. :blahblah: KP - Very well said. I don't know Nigel but anyone who pops onto his website will see a passion for local sport, especially Boxing, shining though! that is enough in my eyes to give the man a big thumbs up, and I can;t even stand boxing!

Impressive stuff martin, thought you came across very well.how did you not give that ted twat a slap though? Adam was ok. at least he's a local lad doing what he enjoys. Living the dream. Or a nightmare off camera I did rib him that he's paid to watch City play. I was rather generous to City but in the long run that's probably a good thing. Don't want us being seen as the gobey club. I was going to make a comment about 'Bristol Sport' but they went straight onto my book, which was OK for me as that's obviously what was needed for me.
