Nasty... Bristol Rovers loanee Lyle Della-Verde suffered a nasty ankle injury in last night's 0-0 draw with Wrexham. The Fulham midfielder, whose current deal was just extended, went over after a heavy challenge. Greater details on the injury are yet to be released but the 19-year-old could now face a spell on the sidelines.

It wasn't a heavy challenge, he rolled his ankle ontop of the ball...

I’ve done damage to ligaments on both my right and left ankles, over the years, playing 5-a-side; on both occasions it was the ball’s fault!
First time I trod on it (like LDV?) and the second time was the result of a powerful shot blocked at point blank range (a la Olivier Giroud at Everton earlier in the season)
Very painful.
Hope LDV is back soon, but that photo doesn’t bode well …

Ouch!
Hope it is not as bad as it looks from the photo.

It wasn't a heavy challenge, he rolled his ankle ontop of the ball... Yes - that's exactly the way I saw it. It was just one of those freakish incidents - they can be the worst. The tackle came earlier and it wasn't really a strong one - it just put him off balance and that's what caused him to fall awkwardly over the ball. Certainly wasn't a dirty challenge.

Surely all twisted ankles look like that when they happen? The fact he tried to play on should suggest it can't be too bad?

I suppose that if he is recalled by Fulham for treatment, that in itself would be a bad sign.
Until then breathe normally.

LDV tweeted "Will know more tmro but lets hope its not too lengthy and can get back to playing ASAP....thanks for the messages" That sounds a little more positive. Fingers crossed.

Not sure you can read anything into that tweet when he's only here for another month, even 2 or 3 weeks would be a long time for us.

His loan ends Jan 4th but Keith Brookman said on Radio Bristol that as he (LDV) is a youth player we can continue to extend the loan every month as long as he and Fulham are willing. Fingers crossed, eh? UTG

He could out weight on it so not the worst ankle ligament injury. Im guessing he will be out for a month or two though.

Shame about the injury, he goes back to Fulham in january, so unlikely we will see him again in the blue and white quarters, he is a very good prospect and I wish him well for the future. utg

Anyone know if he has had a scan yet?? When younger I have twisted my ankle and have played again 2-3 weeks later.
Depends on the age of the person, how bad it is and how it is treated. Hopefully we will see him again.

Fingers crossed, eh? UTG Now that is very good news, and gives us something to hang on to. But in the meantime is there any updated news on his scan? As I posted previously I believe that we will see the extent of his injury by Fulham's reaction to it. If there any doubt I think that they will bring him back home immediately, so that they can oversee the players recovery themselves.
