I know a QPR fan who also has this spot for us and has said that Balanta is mustard , and we have pretty much picked up a gem , I'm beginning to think that DC has been very shrewd with this especially after witnessing the last 2 games with his performances and also bearing in mind his lack of match practice, I hope we can extend something with LDV also. Until recently I've not been able to attend so I have criticised our lack of firepower more importantly Matty Taylor and whilst he may not be prolific in front of goal he has so much more to his game and I am very impressed by him, I am quite happy to eat humble pie as far as he's concerned, we are sitting pretty at the moment in the league and with the loans plus Balanta DC seems to have assembled a very strong squad , on paper we are far more stronger than the first half of the season which by rights we should finish the second half stronger and at least pull off a playoff position. I'm actually enjoying watching my team at the moment with a team full of 100% ers which hasn't happened since 2007 ish . Long may it continue . Up the f@cking gas

Only watched him for 45 minutes, but Balanta seemed like one of those players who have all the time in the world on the pitch - an instinct for finding space.

I thought i read somewhere recently that Lee Brown was contacted by Balanta whom he knew from their connection at QPR and asked him if there was any chance of him playing for Rovers, rather than him being picked out by a shrewd Clarke. either way a fit balanta is a class above this level of football and is a great asset to us.

Funnily enough I heard the same thing Saturday from someone I was stood with in the crowd

Here it is: "I know that things didn't work out for him at QPR in the end and he was released, but when he texted me in the summer to ask if there would be any possibility of coming to Rovers in the summer I couldn't quite believe it. "The manager asked me for my thoughts on Angelo over the summer and I didn't hesitate in giving him a glowing recommendation because a player of his ability can be the difference between winning and not winning promotion. That's how highly I rate him." www.bristolpost.co.uk/Angelo-Balanta-best-Conference-says-Bristol/story-24763974-detail/story.html

Does it really matter who contacted who or is it another swipe at clarke? He's ours so who bloody cares. We can only hope now that he gets fully fit and plays well.

The thing that strikes me here, is the complete absence of an agent being involved. It must have saved BRFC a fortune.

I know a QPR fan who also has this spot for us During our difficult spell(s) last season, there were several stories/links/posts from a few other clubs supporters who were genuinely commiserating with us about the position that we found ourselves in. I found it quite fraternal in a funny kind of way. The two stand-out's for me were QPR and Cardiff City. I went onto the QPR Forum and was quite impressed by their comments, ditto Cardiff. I've always believed (rightly or wrongly) that the quartered shirts have something to do with it, other supporters seem to find something appealing about them. Mind you, I couldn't work out if they really liked BRFC most, or hated the other mob more. It's not just us who dislike them you know, they seem to leave a trail of it behind them wherever they go.

No "swipe" at Clarke just the facts. From LB's quote I would say that DC has identified Balanta, and quite rightly asked LB's opinion. Not LB telling DC about Balanta in the first place. Fair play OP. No issue with anyone that has doubts but will fairly change their mind. Those that come out with crap like 'I won't forgive DC and want him out whatever' on the other hand..
