I was very carefully to avoid giving an opinion on this and tried to outline the known facts. For what it's worth I am BarnetSteve on that thread, the reason I didn't expand further there is because the other information I have given you is general knowledge to those who have followed this.
The situation is only unclear because despite having agreement for the lease to be changed, the club have not yet been in the position where they need to ask for the change to occur (I.e promotion to the league), although the FA have accepted that we can be considered for promotion based on the agreement that the lease will be changed when the time comes. There are lots of reasons why this clause will not affect the club's entry but I think most would be happier if the lease was changed and they no longer need to worry.
When the Tory group gained control they tried their utmost to cause trouble to the point of the council having to pay a large bill for illegally issuing planning enforcement notices. So while they had control things where very difficult. Please understand that some of the Labour group are season ticket holders at the Hive and are keen to see it's continued success.

Not sure why? It seems their current lease at the Hive only allows for Conference football. The lease will only be changed by agreement following a full local public consultation, which does not seem automatic - it doesn't help that they have had to move "out of area" to go to their current ground in Harrow and the council in the borough of Barnet seem to have been less than helpful as well. The lease for the Hive has a clause in it that says no professional football can be played at the Hive and that Barnet football club should not ask for this to be changed within five years of the lease being signed. 1. Professional football is in the definitions as Football league matches 2. The five years expires next April. I hope you can see the flaw in this clause. England could play an international, we can play any team in a cup game or friendly and any other professional sport can use the facilities. It is basically indefensible due to it's definition and would fail as an unreasonable restriction of practise. Both sides know this and neither side would want to appear foolish so the best way to solve it is for the lease to be mutually amended when the time comes.
