I see that Radio Bristol and the evil post are reporting clarke to be saying: Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke has confirmed that two players could be on their way out of the Memorial Stadium this afternoon. Officials are currently in discussions with two clubs over deals that would see one players leave on loan, while another is close to completing finalising a permanent move away from the Memorial Stadium before the 5pm deadline for transfers. Clarke, who added it was ‘unlikely’ that there would be any incomings, said: “There might be one or two bits of action. I don’t necessarily expect players to be coming in but there might be one or two going out. We’re looking at maybe one going out on loan and one going out permanently, but we’ll see. “It is not a case of balancing the books, because I think I’m doing ok in terms of the budget. We sold a couple of players in the summer and we’ve recently bought one in, so I think I am in credit.” Clarke is currently in talks with Fulham over the possibility of extending the loan spell of impressive winger Lyle Della-Verde when his initial deal expires after Rovers go to Welling on December 6. That move, however, does not necessarily have to be finalised today as the initial loan deal was agreed before the deadline. Brunt will be the permanent deal, don't think he is financially beholden to Rovers. Then presuming the loan is a first team squad player take your pick from Harrison, clarke, leadbitter & possibly gosling?

Good player but has a bit attitude apparently. we seen to have had quite a lot of them over recent years, and not all of them young 'uns. I think Trolls used to go on about recruiting for character as much as skill, but didn't seem to walk the walk in my view (Snowflake etc)
DC seems to have them working together as a unit, and I hope he sticks to that sort player - the sort that can make the whole more than the sum of the parts

Only thinking out loud & my thinking didn't get as far as Donovan Wilson (in fairness I would've needed a programme to even know he was in the squad).

According to some people on twitter it's a done deal, he's under contract as a first team pro, so could be a fee involved. Thanks for that. I'm no expert on the finer points of the transfer market/contractual issues, but I really would expect the club to receive a transfer fee/compensation for the lad. After all he has been with us for a number of seasons now, and we have had input into his development and brought him to where he is at present, so I believe that we should be compensated for that alone. After all if he is considered to be a bright prospect by WWFC, then that should be recognised by the buying club. But youngsters just seem to disappear from the club without hardly any ripples showing. I'm thinking here of Matt Macey and Olly Mehew who have both departed to sunnier climes recently. It's true that we did receive a compensation package from Arsenal for Macey, but I never heard anything about Mehew, but logically we must have done.

I think Macey was reported as 100K plus extras as when and a friendly match. I think this was just before the EPPP stuff was passed.
Mehew was after the EPPP so we presumably only get what is set out in those guidelines for him.
If Wilson has a pro deal then I am not sure on the finer points

I wouldn't disagree with a word of that PP. But the point that I am attempting to make is that if clubs (like for instance Arsenal, Blackburn and Wolves) continue to raid the lower leagues and cherry-pick the best players for a nominal return to the selling club (or the truly-rooked club), then as sure as eggs is eggs the supply of players from the lower leagues will inevitably dry up. At that point there would be huge implications from the England team downwards. But whilst the top clubs have Sky's money to underpin them, and seem determined to keep the lion's share for themselves, who cares?
