No 4. Rovers (or any number of other clubs, so my answer is probably wrong) All have retained League status by finishing 1 place above the Div 4 drop zone? Not what I was thinking. Interesting, though.

Clues:
All questions are related to Rovers.
4. Stop your Gambling Cardiff, Carlisle, Bournemouth, ...? (Red faces in the 21st Century).
5. Fireside Bright Stoke City, Manchester United, Fulham, ...? (All in one decade at Eastville, after a big event in another).
6. Goodnight Irene, I'll See You In My Dreams Five, Twelve, Eleven, ...? (I'm sure DC would have got this).

Answer:- Southampton
The big event was England winning the World Cup in 1966 and in the 1970s these teams played at Eastville including a World Cup winner (Gordon Banks, Bobby Charlton, Bobby Moore, Alan Ball).
I seem to remember a tremendous save by Gordon Banks at the Tote End from a Sandy Allan shot(or have I made it up?!)

I seem to remember a tremendous save by Gordon Banks at the Tote End from a Sandy Allan shot(or have I made it up?!) Correct! I had to qualify the clue by saying "1970's at Eastville", as it appears Ray Wilson (and Alan Ball) played for Everton against Rovers in the FA Cup in 1968. From the video on You Tube of Leeds v Rovers at Elland Road, it doesn't look as though Jackie Charlton was playing. I wasn't at the Stoke game, but remember the Manchester United game well. There must have been 1000 people sat around the perimeter of the field on the dog track!

Guess 4 relates to First Round exits in the FA Cup? The order is not quite right so I could be wrong. It has been known.

Darlington? Bingo!! Cardiff, Carlisle and Bournemouth were fourth tier when Rovers were third tier. Darlington were fifth tier, two tiers below us.

Final question unanswered.
6. Goodnight Irene, I'll See You In My Dreams Five, Twelve, Eleven, ...? (I'm sure DC would have got this. At 5pm tomorrow we'll know the fifth in the sequence as well as the fourth).
Answer tonight.

Five, Twelve, Eleven, ...? (I'm sure DC would have got this. At 5pm tomorrow we'll know the fifth in the sequence as well as the fourth).
Answer tonight. With all the clues, I think that the answer is six. Points gained at 5 game intervals this season.

Yup, that's right! Phew!
If we can achieve a ten-point total from each set of five games, we shouldn't be far away from where we want to be.
Depending on the result at Welling, the sequence will be 5, 11, 12, 6, (8,9 or 11), ....
A win tomorrow will give us an average of 1.8 points per game, or nine points on average from each set of five.
