...That's the one! QI fact: on Wikipedia it says that Bournemouth are "still registered as Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic. AFC Bournemouth is a trade name".

Right again. Aldershot, Plymouth, Derby and Gillingham were the opponents in FA Cup rounds 1,2,3 and 4 in 2001-2. Somehow typical of Rovers after the heroics at Pride Park to get Gillingham away as a reward...and lose.

5. Newcastle United (All loaned us a goalkeeper). Interesting, but not at all what I was thinking. I guess you mean Culkin, the double-barrelled name from Stoke and Etheridge from Fulham, hence Forster (Newcastle). You've probably come up with a better answer than what's on the card!

Not what I was thinking. Why do you think Bristol Rovers? I thought it might be Watney Cup related, but I checked and it isn't!

Trekked all the way to Medway on a very wet Saturday morning in January 2002 - walked into the pub just as the match had been called off. Went again on a midweek, when we knew the winners would be travelling to Highbury. Disappointed, inevitably.

Gillingham were two tiers higher than Rovers at the time (as they are now ).

Feck this noise.
It's much easier when you know the answers.

Not yet answered correctly:
4. Stop your Gambling Cardiff, Carlisle, Bournemouth, ...?
5. Fireside Bright Stoke City, Manchester United, Fulham, ...?
6. Goodnight Irene, I'll See You In My Dreams Five, Twelve, Eleven, ...?
I'll post clues, if necessary, when I get back from Wrexham.

No 4. Rovers (or any number of other clubs, so my answer is probably wrong)
All have retained League status by finishing 1 place above the Div 4 drop zone?
