1. A wet Tuesday in Alfreton, 315 hardy gashesds sheltering under the tiny stands to witness how far we have fallen.
2. The first half was a non event the only excitement came from a turn and shot from Jamie White.
3. Second half started the same then Brunt was through on goal and fell over. Harrison replaced him and Della Verde came on soon after and we started to exert some proper pressure. Sadly no one could take any of the chances and our whole sorry attacking threat was encapsulated with Parkes tame shot straight at the keeper when he looked certain to score.
4. Very little positives to take from the game against one of the poorest teams we will play. Della Verde is a definite class act compared to everything else out there and creates chances not that anyone is capable of taking them.
5. We need investment in this team fast, we cannot expect to achieve anything with players such as Martin and Leadbitter who lack even the basic ball control skills and no striker worthy of the name. If something doesn't change at the very top then we might be coming to grounds like Alfreton for many years to come.

Not be very impressed.

"We need investment in this team fast"
The question is do we have sufficent money to invest to improve the team? If we haven't why doesn't NH just confirm that and we can accept DC & his players are doing their best?

We need a proper experienced manager plain and simple not this clueless bloke. Well I never, I really hope this so called 'Clueless Bloke' rams your comment right up where the sun don't shine when success inevitably comes our way. Who do you actually think Bristol Rovers are? We are a club slowly recovering from what was a near terminal illness and this 'Clueless Bloke' is trying to make sure that the near terminal illness never returns. Give him time, FFS, what do you actually want, a return to players joining who only join due to the over the top wages being paid out? Me, I'm not happy about whats happened but, my word, I certainly am enjoying watching OUR players and Management actually trying and wanting to be at Bristol Rovers. People like you and other moaning halfwits like you will only drive us further down!! By the way, ROVERS TIL I DIE!!

I am happy to see the players giving 100%. To call DC clueless, after he has assembled a squad of players trying their best for Bristol Rovers who are currently 4th, is ridiculous. We all know what can be improved upon. All this negativity must filter down to the players and will only make the job harder.

For once in a very long time we are not playing badly. We have areas to improve of course, but being 4th at this stage of the season is positive and we can hopefully now push on.

If we haven't why doesn't NH just confirm that and we can accept DC & his players are doing their best? But we do have money available within the budget for a striker, and possibly one other player. This is according to what the Chairman and the Manager have said in the local media in recent weeks, in fact I recall that DC made such a statement only last week. Our problem (and it's one that goes back several seasons now, and an awful lot of wasted wonga to boot), is that the club appears unable to attract players of reasonable quality.

I do not think the striker is the biggest problem - it is the creativeness. Gary Lineker in his prime would struggle to score for us. We just need that bit more in the final third. I know the guys up front are not scoring every time, but what striker does? Andy Cole needed to miss 3 to score 1 and he played for England!

As I mentioned in my brief synopsis we created enough chances to win especially when Della Verde came on. The same can be said for other games, FGR at home being a good example. Based upon chances we should have had 6 points from those two games but we scraped 1.

We need that big space of green in the middle of the park to have three decent players filling it - not the gaping hole that sits there currently.

Last night:- White turn and shot saved, White clean through fell over, Brunt played clean through also fell over, Parkes goal at his mercy from 6 yards tapped it back to keeper. Della Verde must have put over 5 or 6 superb crosses that none of our intrepid strike force anticipated.

Forwards Taylor, Harrison, Cunnington & Martin all missed chances against FGR?
Back to what I asked previously is the money available sufficient to attract a decent striker? Torquay last night seemed to have a decent couple of strikers, how do they attract them?
