I like this guy a lot but its getting tedious now about the Clubs inability to agree terms with anyone who could remotely improve our Goalsfor column.
Over the last few weeks i've heard plenty ...
1. Needs to be the right player.. 2. Needs to improve what we've already got.. 3. I have had three more bids turned down ...
small window until the interview but what will be said tonight ....Any takers ?
Why not just say... we have no money what so ever or there is nothing planned until January !
Sorry DC to have a moan ... but its gone beyond frustrating to painful now, borderline embarrassing!!

How about "If NH expects to sign a striker on the cheap what I'm supposed to do about it? Why don't you speak to him about the situation as it's out of my hands"

Hopefully he will say "I quit" Any half decent football fan can see we need a pair of decent strkers and I have said all season we need them I have watched Taylor and co they might be good lads but they were never or ever going to score many it dont help much with powder puff wingers either. If Mr Higgs cant see the need to spend on the attacking part of the side we will be in this league for a very long time.

It's probably the supporters' fault, an average attendance of roughly 6000 clearly isn't bringing in enough money to pay for a striker who can score goals at Conference level!

I've just seen there were 880 supporters there tonight with over 315 from Rovers ... fair play guys you deserve so much more !!
Alfreton third from bottom ...-17 goal difference ...so others are managing to score against them .

Absolutely right, after all we need 6,500 to break even so its those 500 who are nowhere to be seen who are letting us down!! Bar stewards all of them.....

I thought we had been hearing these excuses for years from all of our recent managers - embarrassment came a long time ago for us

It is very frustrating that we haven't managed to sign a striker yet, as we would probebly be in a two horse race with Barnet now if one of the ones currently with us had come good.
However the fact we are still fourth shows the determination in this Squad of players and young manager.
I'm as frustrated as anyone about the situation but Blame the board more than Clarke for this situation.
The strikers we have would appear not to have been his first choices but the club were unable to secure preferred targets such as Tubbs at the start of the season.
how many years have we been starting season's unprepared! last year being the best/ worst example of all.
we now find ourselves in a decent position and it would seem the board are now prepared to trust Darrell with a little more cash to go for the same players as he requested (Tubbs) at the start of the season.
However this is a difficult time of the year to get players particularly strikers in! This is not an excuse it's a fact.
Darrell has stated many times he's only looking to bring in better Quality then we have. Could you imagine the reaction if he brought in another striker who fired blanks!
I'm led to believe were in negotiations with a player at a championship club who is a very experienced goal scorer. as well as the Tubbs deal being still alive.
I know were all sick of hearing and doing it but we just need to be a patient a little longer.
maybe the news of cunningtons departure is a sign were almost there! Fingers crossed. UTG!

My memory tells me that the break even figure was 6000 but the budget was set at a level that would require 9000 gates to break even. My memory can often be wrong though.

My understanding was that last year's figure and the one Toni the Till was working on after relegation (he hadn't planned otherwise as we were only in the zone for 70 minutes...) was 9,000 to 9,500. This was later stated at a Q&A to now be revised to 6,500 following redundancies, cutbacks etc.
