We now share the same platform.
Many post on both.
What's the point of being separate?
Are we actually stronger as a divided voice? I don't think so.
All we need to do, now that we share the same software, is to merge and emerge as a true one strong voice. A new name, same forum, same fans, same club.

This forum might have recently changed platforms but it has existed in one guise or another since 2006.
Everybody is welcome here.

Very true. But it was meant as an appeal to the others over there.

Not sure if a merge as such is particularly necessary. As NB says, we've existed in one form or another since 2006, with Jeff, Oxon and myself running it since March last year. Those from Gaschat (or any other forum) are very welcome to come and post here if they like, but I wouldn't be in favour of any change that might compromise the formula that has worked well for us over the last 15 months. I've got a lot of admiration for Ras and anyone else who gets off their bum to run a forum, as it's a lot more responsibility than you'd think at first (if you want to keep it going for the long term, at any rate). They've obviously got something that works well for the group of posters who are mates with each other, and good luck to them in that. Having said that, I agree that it would be nice if the fans were united under one forum rather than splinter groups. I don't miss the threads about things that look like nobs though. It's almost as bad as our serious stuff forum

It's almost as bad as our serious stuff forum Yes but was it really necessary to go and set up another forum and further dilute the views of the fan base. The once I looked on there, there was still criticism of the board and there were many similar threads to what was on here so what did it actually acheive other than to develop another splinter group ? There's even a thread on there highlighting threads on here, perhaps we should just give access to one anothers forums by putting a permanent sticky thread with a link to each other, maybe that would assist with a potential merger.

this talk of fans being 'united' is pipe-dream stuff IMO. There's never half a thread without some pretty strong disagreements. I say give people choice and let them go where they want - just like having different sections of the ground, so people can be where they feel most comfortable, or different pubs to accommodate different styles
and agree with strung out, this place has been good for 15 months - suits me, Sir!

I must say I agree with aghast. I know some didn't like the old Independent Forum because it seemed to be riddled with virus problems, but that seems much better with the new site. (and I can remember gasheads.org without having to use google!. Yet I'm not sure why gaschat is there as well. I'm concerned that the club is splintering into fragments, and who will benefit from 'divide and rule' tactics? yes the BoD of course!

I have always stated that I would love it to be one forum for all, hopefully once the season starts things might change.
