Last time we got promoted we got to the JPT final which didn't exactly hold us back. There are only 5 round before the final, one is two legs so a maximum of 7 games including the final. You have to play 1 anyway so a maximum of 6 extra games!
Hardly to many extra games and the first few rounds are probably fixtures in on a Saturday instead of a league game anyway so we wouldn't even half to play 2 games a week for all of it.
Winning brings confidence, I say go for it. A decent chance of bringing in more money.

The first 2 rounds have been left clear of league fixtures and there are no league games mid week after either. So we might as well put out our strongest team or players will have 2 weeks without a game.
So then after it only leaves a maximum of 5 games.

The Trophy is one of the reasons the Conference packs so many games into the first three months of the season - because most Conference sides would be expected to make progress in the competition.
Given that these games are done, dusted and out of the way, we may as well take the competition seriously
