Right, lets cut out the attacks on Shane. He isnt here to argue back (at the moment)
I appreciate some people may not take to him or his views, but we dont need a thread to take pot shots at Shane. We can debate the ba , but lets keep it that way

Whatever the rights and wrongs of Shane's ban it's refreshing to see how open and honest the moderaters are in this discussion. Credit too that they are very clear in what Shane has to do to get back on here. So very different to the dreaded '*' from the official forum followed by complete silence when the banning was questioned.

Its a pity that the laws create the fear of "punishment" for those moderating or posting on a football forum. The funny thing is that blokes like Shane expose their own stupidity by the comments he makes, so stupid that its difficult to be offended, more pitying.
But the mods are right and as others have said we all signed up to the rules.
As for reporting posts, I get that its useful sometimes to point the mods towards threads that are butting up againstbthe forum rules as they cannot possibly read everything. Calling this "snitching" is a bit immature.

Your are correct Oldie, the mods cannot and do not read every post and we actively encourage members to report posts they consider have transgressed the rules. The Mods do not take action on every reported post and where action is taken they are usually reached by discussion and agreement between the Mods. That approach ensures the forum is not run on the whim of any individual, a la the OF. Reporting posts isn't 'snitching' but a way individual members can support the Mods and ensure we have a forum we can all enjoy.

Let's see if the Mods adhere to that eh? The evidence in this thread alone seems to indicate that this will not happen.

Leave it out or else I'll "snitch" on you. Can't see for one moment why a number of people seem to be constantly criticising the Admin/Mods on here. It's a football forum and generally anybody who has been banned/reprimanded has got that from bringing their own NON football agenda with them and using it in a manner that just gets peoples backs up. I don't want to come on here and listen to nutters drone on about how bad certain ethnic minorities are in the country or how being to the right of Hitler will solve all this country's ills. Please, can we talk about football and all leave the other crap at the door? Sheesh.

Nobody is criticising the Mods. I'm just pointing out that they are behaving in the same way as the Rovers Board when they banned someone from the Mem. Also, by instigating the ban they will now be expected to be consistent when dealing with others who are deemed to have 'broken the rules'?

Flipping heck ... Andy Williams eh? Seven goals for Swindon already this season ... and they're fifth in League One! Unbelievable ... Unbe-blimmin-lievable.

I'm guessing that by 'behaving in the same way' = banning someone? There is a passing resemblance, but its superficial IMO. And they were expected to be consistent from the start, so no change at all I still can't see any point being made

Williams always had something about him but he went from a bit part promising League 2 player to a starter in League 1 over the course of the summer when Walker fell out of favour, always rated him and glad he's doing well all be it for an awful club. I'll never forget that goal at Southampton.

So the man who cried censorship now approves of a fellow poster suffering a total ban and therefore denied the opportunity to defend himself.Funny how ones train of thought changes when the boots on the other foot isn't it.

Shall we have some updates on some of our players who were with us at the back end of next season?
Michael Smith is playing regularly for Peterborough United in League One, he's already equalled to amount of goals he scored for Rovers and has helped Post to seventh in League One.
Kaid Mohamed has featured reasonably regularly on loan at Northampton Town from Port Vale. Northampton were doing reasonably well until recently when they went on a four game losing streak until Mohamed scored in the Cobblers 2-0 win against AFC Wimbledon at the weekend.
John-Joe O'Toole is alongside Kaid at Northampton and his appearances have intermittent with long spells on the bench, Cobblers supporters have already started getting on the back of their 'star signing' and are questioning handing him a three year deal.
Seanan Clucas has returned to his native Northern Ireland to play for Linfield. Similar to O'Toole, Clucas has featured intermittently for Linfield with a mixture of starts and appearances from the bench.
Alefe Santos signed for Derby County over the summer and made his debut as a sub in the League Cup against Charlton Athletic, he's been appearing regularly for the reserves and development squad.
David Clarkson returned to Scotland signing for Dundee in the SPL, in his favoured position as a striker Clarkson has been in a rich vein of form scoring in every one of his five appearances for the Dark Blues.
Matt Harrold signed for Crawley in the summer and has been mainly used as a sub by the red devils, he scored his only goal of the season in a defeat to Notts County and has only picked up two bookings this season.
Chris Beardsley returned to his old club Stevenage in the summer where he has started most games since September, he has however only scored once.
Fabian Broghammer returned to Germany to play for SV Wiesbaden in the Hessenliga in the firth tier of German football (German football beyond Liga 3 is regional). There's is little to no information on how Fabian is getting on.

Broghammer has played in 10 games (out of 15). He hasn't scored, but he has five assists. He has come off the bench four times, and been subbed four times. He also has one Man-of-the-Match, and his team sit third in their table.
