It could be that he just isn't a very good footballer?

As the player has already played for us previously, albeit on loan, it may be a more relevant (and realistic) question ''Would You Have Him Back?'' as posed previously towards Ched Evans.

Was viewing on mobile and the original text didn't show up as a link.
There are better players than him playing in the 5th tier, so maybe that's just how football works - sometimes someone takes a punt on you, sometimes they don't.
Hopefully it's no more sinister than that, as , unlike Evans, McDonald waa found innocent.
Why was this posted in the Rovers section? He played a few games for us a few years back, hardly relevant to the club - especially from someone who was moaning about that in another thread...

McDonald played against Rovers earlier this season at Southport. He looked shocking that day

Dave Clarkson is doing very well at Dundee. Manager really rates him 4 goals in 4 games.

SPL is a very low standard league. Currently led by Hamilton Accies - a lovely club who concentrate almost entirely on a brilliant Youth set up. However they are no bigger than most L2 clubs and survive on an average gate of less than 3000. Similar situation at another of the leading clubs ICT who get 3500 if lucky for the less fashionable games. No wonder really Dave Clarkson can make a favourable impression in that standard, I wish him luck but would have far preferred to have seen him make a decent impact with the Gas.
I am flying up to Inverness on Nov 6th for a few days in the Highlands and taking in the chance to watch Old Down CC old boy Gary Warren for ICT v Hamilton in the top of the table clash.

I am flying up to Inverness on Nov 6th for a few days in the Highlands and taking in the chance to watch Old Down CC old boy Gary Warren for ICT v Hamilton in the top of the table clash. I too wish him luck Alveston, but in my opinion the reason that he failed to make a ''decent impact,'' was because he was consistently played out of position, if he made the starting XI in the first place that is. I seem to remember that he was even an unused substitute on a quite a few occasions, and our supporters asking him from the terraces if he was fit to play. The ''thumbs-up'' was the diplomatic reply from him. It was accepted that the club attempted to ''freeze'' him out (most probably due to his contract, which was rumoured to be generous), but eventually the manager did say that he was part of his plans going forward. But remember that this was after the manager had already told the player that he was free to find another club. Like several others on here I regularly called for him to be played in his favoured position, but he was not . . . that much is undeniable and history. I've posted before that if David Clarkson had been played in his natural position, then our chances of avoiding relegation from the Football League would have been considerably improved. But he wasn't, and we didn't.
