Would prefer it if he was playing 90 minutes for us So would I, with Cunnington going back to CU, and Clarke being unable to sign any quality players, lets hope Brunty comes back a better player and starts banging them in for BRFC.

Brunt is having a shocking loan spell at York, he's played 4 games and been involved for 360 minutes and is yet to find the net. York have only scored 2 goals and taken 2 points from his 4 games there aswell. Not in a million years would Brunt get into our side, the only positive for him is that he's getting games and hopefully York may extend the loan or another club will want him.

In two of those games they were down to ten men (both in the first half, I believe). They are also a struggling side, with not a lot of providers. I have seen some criticism from York fans, but given they have not won any of the games and hover above the relegation zone, you can't expect their fans to be happy. As you say, he has played 90mins in all four games, which shows 2 things in my opinion: He's fit enough to last a full 90 minutes, which he wasn't during early season for us. York have had two managers for the four games, both have fancied Brunt enough to start and finish all of the games - and they have valid replacements, e.g. De Girolamo on loan form Sheff U. I think too many on here are willing to kick a man when he's down. If he's too expensive, or DC doesn't fancy him, then we may well have seen the last of Ryan Brunt at Rovers, but as it stands, he'll be back with us and provides a different attacking option - particularly as Cunnington cannot remain with us.

Wouldnt know much about how he is playing at York, other than he has not scored. Are York creating lots of chances and he's missing loads? Lots of chances have been created for Cunnington and he could have double figures by now. I feel sure that Ryan Brunt would have put some of those chances away. Brunt and White up front for me and Taylor out wide.

Well I looked at the match facts on sky sports live last night and apart from the fact he was in the team he didn't get one mention in the 90 minutes as far as I could see. That said York are pretty awful at the moment so at the least he gains match fitness and therefore should come back fit.

I stand by my belief that a fit Brunt is our Conference version of Rickie Lambert. I hope he's still willing to rejoin us after his loan is over and that he starts scoring ASAP.
However if we do get him back and he doesn't correspond then - as much as I have high hopes for him - he'd better be looking for a new club, because we can wait, but not too long.

Doesn't necesarily mean he's having a shocker. I still can;t quite see the reason he's not in or around our squad. I always assumed it was a fitness issue as he looked a fine player when he first came here. But if he can play 4 full games in a row, and as someone said some with 10 men [extra running to do], then I fail to see what our amazing strikeforce [/sarcasm font] is doing so well to even keep him off the subs bench. I would like to trust darrell on this but would also like to be given so info of why he doesn't seen to rate him when our strikers very very rarely score from open play.

Surely it's a case of DC, or NH?, doesn't want Brunt at the club rather then the other way round. Whilst Cunnington started off OK he's done nothing recently to suggest he's a better than a fit Brunt, if nothing else Brunt must now be reasonably match fit.

Sure, but my fear is that after playing on loan at a higher level and getting regular time, even if for only a month, he may start to feel like leaving. And I'm not so sure that DC would have blood on his hands over this because Brunt wasn't showing any signs of getting better physically and, in a sense, technically, so... it's complicated, really

The only real positive thing to take is that he has been getting 90 minutes and hopefully this will continue. Lets not forget, York are a struggling side failing to find the net, which probably means they are not creating many chances. We have the same issues up top but we are not struggling and are creating plenty of chances.
