He's moved about a fair bit since leaving us, irish. His last but one club was Dorchester (shame that he's still not there, eh?), but he's now playing for Sutton United. Thank you. I don't know why I particularly care he just sort of stood out I suppose! He was nowhere near good enough to play for Rovers but I remember being pretty impressed by him when I saw him play for Mangos at what I think was Southern Premier League level at the time. Possibly the surname?

Possibly the surname? Yes definitely! But also the name in general perhaps - evokes an era of fans in flat caps and players in very long shorts....

Ellis looked frustrated with lack of service particularly from Ward-Baptiste who has absolutely zero delivery on him (he didn't last night anyway). Saw plenty of the ball down the right flank in the first half but didn't do much with it. Agree with the above, he had his eye on this weekend, can't blame him for that. Harry White looks good IMO. Surely if he had his eye on the weekend he'd be giving 100% to make sure he started? There must be a reason he still remains on the transfer list!

My thoughts exactly, we a Paul Randall type forward, I remember watching rovers play Crystal Palace and for about 85 minutes or so Paul was virtually anonymous, then popped up in the six yard box to pinch a goal, I'm fed up of work rate = doing their job, if they are a striker, I want a player who sniffs out opportunities and takes them more often than not, and they are about in the non league pyramid system. let's hope Tbone Gas doesn't read this thread............! Why is that dear fellow gashead??? Prey tell!!....

If this isn't a rhetorical question and you aren't a reincarnation of TBone - he was known to moan very occasionally about Richard Walker's laziness (at the time Mr Walker was knocking them in for fun but allegedly doing not a lot else!). But I suspect you already knew that..............!

I've been told that Harrison was shocking, must be a kick in the teeth to all those people demanding he should start games. I tend to agree with alot of your comments on the playing side WC but I think Ellis has improved alot from last season. His performance when starting and leading the line at Eastleigh was in a different class to anything AC has produced and he has made a decent impact in most sub appearances. AC really is slow, lacks ball control, rarely holds the ball up and doesn't head the ball but lets it hit his head, which is why no one including him knows what direction it is going to take. I think Ellis is worth a start and he certainly wouldn't have been bullied by Coles as AC was.

From Sky Transfer news:
A host of clubs are keeping tabs on exciting Bristol Rovers teenager Lewis Ellington, Sky Sports understands.
15-year-old Ellington featured for Rovers in their midweek win over Gloucester City in the GFA Senior Challenge Cup.
Ellington impressed Rovers assistant boss Marcus Stewart during the win over Gloucester City, with the youngster now on the fringes of the first-team.
"Lewis is only 15 and is an Academy player who only made his debut for the U-18 side a couple of weeks ago, at Bournemouth," Stewart told the club's official website.
"He appeared to be quite confident and he coped very well in the 45 minutes he was on.
The winger, who can also play up front, has come through the club's Academy and is regarded as one of the best young talents to come through at the Memorial Stadium.
Ellington's progress has not gone unnoticed among clubs higher up the football pryamid, with Premier League and Championship clubs keeping a close eye on his progress.
Is he worth a try before we lose him? Or best left where he is, in the hope of some kind of fee, probably a pittance wrung out of a tribunal as usual.

The reason Grovesy hasn't been 'prolific' as he isn't a striker... Harry White impressed me last night, I'd certainly give him another look. Ellis seemingly had his eye on the weekend, I think he could be in with a shout of starting. I like the fact people who didn't attend are crucifying him. I'm pretty sure he has the best goals to minutes ratio of any of our players. Apologies for my misunderstanding on point one. Marcus Stewart says we will have another look at Harry White. How does this work if he is currently contracted to Banbury? Do we have to i) agree a loan deal? ii) wait for the transfer window to sign him? iii) ignore all of this and just get him in? I see he has had four recent substitute appearances for Banbury (all pretty late on), but also scored a hat-trick for them when starting against Daventry in the Southern League cup. From the Banbury site: Harry White Striker Biography: 19 year-old striker who originally joined Banbury from then Midland Alliance side Coventry Sphinx in March 2013. He had previously played for Midland Combination side Earlswood Town whom he left to join Sphinx in October 2012. He made in his short spell with Banbury eight appearances but then opted at the end of that season to play football in the USA where he has been playing for Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, Illinois. He re-signed for Banbury at the beginning of October 2014 upon his return from the US.

He'll train with Rovers (I don't know how many days a week) but will probably be allowed to turn out for Banbury. I've been told Charlie Maddison an attacking midfielder from Larkhall will be training with Rovers next week (it's half term and he's 17). Seen him the last two midweeks, very good player and cutting it at a decent level in the Southern S&W.
