Matt Groves showed more skill, energy and spatial awareness tonight than any Rovers player I've seen this season. Did anyone notice that in the second half he took two excellent corners; one with his right foot and then from the other side with his left? Harrison was a huge disappointment. Headless chicken challenges, a booking and taken off at half-time. Harry White impressed. Some nice touches and movement from the younger lads, but Jamie White was largely anonymous.....apart from scoring!

My thoughts exactly, we a Paul Randall type forward, I remember watching rovers play Crystal Palace and for about 85 minutes or so Paul was virtually anonymous, then popped up in the six yard box to pinch a goal, I'm fed up of work rate = doing their job, if they are a striker, I want a player who sniffs out opportunities and takes them more often than not, and they are about in the non league pyramid system.

I've been told that Harrison was shocking, must be a kick in the teeth to all those people demanding he should start games.

I'd like Ellis to have four or five starts before I completely dismiss him as an option. A shame if he blew his chance last night . In terms of goals per minutes played he remains by far our most lethal striker................not the greatest accolade I know but I still see something in him so would give him a go

Some nice touches and movement from the younger lads, but Jamie White was largely anonymous.....apart from scoring! Thanks for that. Interesting to hear about Matt Groves as a product of the Rovers academy. One substitute appearance for us in 2007 I think and then a tour of local teams. He's not been prolific since leaving Rovers, but maybe someone to keep an eye on. I'm not sure about Harrison's motivation in games like this, but I wasn't there - so unfair to comment. Harry White looks to be tall, strong and skillful and has a clear eye for goal. We need to see whether he could perform at a higher level, but again I understand he was with us as a youngster (didn't know we had a midlands academy side?). He looks like he might be worth a punt on. I'm not sure about Jamie White. This seems to be his game; anonymous for most of it, but pops up and gets you a goal. Problem is, if he doesn't get the goal, he looks pretty poor.

The reason Grovesy hasn't been 'prolific' as he isn't a striker...
Harry White impressed me last night, I'd certainly give him another look. Ellis seemingly had his eye on the weekend, I think he could be in with a shout of starting. I like the fact people who didn't attend are crucifying him. I'm pretty sure he has the best goals to minutes ratio of any of our players.

Ellis looked frustrated with lack of service particularly from Ward-Baptiste who has absolutely zero delivery on him (he didn't last night anyway). Saw plenty of the ball down the right flank in the first half but didn't do much with it.
Agree with the above, he had his eye on this weekend, can't blame him for that. Harry White looks good IMO.

He's moved about a fair bit since leaving us, irish. His last but one club was Dorchester (shame that he's still not there, eh?), but he's now playing for Sutton United.

I don't know why I particularly care he just sort of stood out I suppose! He was nowhere near good enough to play for Rovers but I remember being pretty impressed by him when I saw him play for Mangos at what I think was Southern Premier League level at the time.

Think he was Dorchester's Fans Player of the Season last year, the Gandermonium lads at Sutton speak highly of him as well.
