Just a thought if his conviction is overturned,is he a innocent man that went to prison or a rapist that got off with it ! ! ! The former, but please bear in mind, in his original trial the jury's verdict was unanimous, on the two occasions he has sought leave to appeal it was denied both times, first by a single judge and second by 3 judges...whilst I haven't bothered to look up the judgements I presume because there is no new evidence and there is no dispute about either the law or the conduct of the trial. Why it's being reviewed again I don't know, again I presume it's because under our system if you make enough noise for long enough that's the way it works. Ps only read the judgement from the second appeal after I wrote this ^^^^, but the 12 jurors and 4 judges seem to have come to a similar conclusion following exhaustive analysis of the various testimonies...I do think it's bizarre that in his second leave to appeal submission he sought to dispute the evidence given by his original expert witness and substitute it with a different conclusion from a different expert, sounds like a slippery sort to me. Anyway I wouldn't want him anywhere near us, his presence will always be a distraction to any club that signs him. |

Is this from the website set up to protest the innocence of the convicted rapist Ched Evans? The one paid for by his girlfriend's father? It'd be good to say where you're quoting from, so we all know where the source is coming from Yes it is. But these are facts presented to the jury. My point is is that this probably could of happened to 90% of us, bird wakes up, regrets decision, calls cops. Not the same as the rapists that lurk in the park, randomly assaulting women. This girl had gone back to hotel, and slept with these guys. Odd nobody worried when we signed McDonald but there would be uproar if we tried to sign Evans but in the defendant's eyes both were equally guilty of rapeing her, even if only Evans was convicted. Perhaps if Evans had dropped out of the lime light for another year the media may have forgotten all about him he probably did himself no favours trying to rent to playing for Sheffield Utd. |

Makes you realise how people have such different perceptions on certain subjects such as narcotics and alcohol, a tee total christian old lady who believes that drugs are the devil incarnate could easily find herself sat next to a similar aged lady at a bus stop who needs an eighth a day to keep her arthritis at bay. |

Footballers who have killed people are playing again. An actor who were convicted of murder appeared on national television in Eastenders..........yet not a peep from anyone? Double standards anyone? totally agree - but unfortunately for Evans he has now become toxic - and 'Rovers do not need the distraction - |

Evans has every right to return to work. I don't say he should never play football (even if I wouldn't want him at the Gas) but the football arena, charged by emotion and irrational thought at times is probably not the best place for him to go whilst everything is up in the air. You only have to have long hair to be shouted at all match. look at some of the abuse Jamie Cureton got when some accused him of 'messing around with a girl'
I am sure Evans has a brain, and I am sure he knew it wouldn't be easy just walking back into football
On a side note from Evans, I still don't get why his girlfriend is with him regardless even if he is innocent of Rape. Would you stick by your partner who cheated on you and was filmed having sex with a drunken women in front of his mates.

The conviction is shakey and the social media vigilantes are turning this into radicalism.
He was convicted but if the conviction is wrong (see Barry Bulsara) then is he a rapist?
Can anyone recall john Leslie being wrongfully charged with rape, losing everything, before the conviction was overturned. Despite being eventually innocent the media were disgusting in killing this guys career whilst charges were made, I fear for ched if the dodgy case is proved dodgy but only after wrecking this guy.
If ched is found not guilty then does the victim become the criminal? Why are we not questioning the CPS who cultivated the case and led the girl?

That's the job of the trial & appeal system. |
