Genuine question, hoping not to provoke the usual flip ad hominem retorts: considering its performance over the last fifteen years, what sort of supporters does the club 'deserve'? It's the word 'deserve' that pivots the enquiry. The word "deserve" is really in and of itself very mysterious in the sense that people often want different things, no matter how intense or big. I don't think the clube "deserves" any fans, nor the fans "deserve" any club. A club exists and a fan chooses to support it, end of, that's how it all begins, just like human relationships, you don't start loving at the first minute, it's a knowing and learning proccess. And if you chose to support this club, it falls to you to be supportive towards it - be it by constructive criticism, funding, you name it. Of course, humans need and are allowed to vent, so no one here is immune to having had it and coming here to say KILL THOSE WASTERS I HATE BRISTOL ROVERS WHAT A JOKE CLUB F*** 'EM ALL But what makes us supporters is the will to keep involved with the club even if we choose not to attend games for a while. As long as we keep in touch with BRFC, we are, be it in a huge or small way, supporting the club and no one should be bragging about their "amount" of supporting over the years - or lack thereof. What isn't included in supporting is avoiding comments over an unbeaten run and then magically showing up after the first loss to slag the whole club without at least recognizing that something was happening. That is nothing more than opportunism.

First defeat in what 9 or 10 matches now? And the Clarke our brigade pipe up, what a joke of a post. The board have put us where we are no one else, they are the joke and so are you for critisisng the only person in the building able to get team spirit back after being run by a clown for 6 months. The fan base at Rovers is turning into a laughing stock online, we have the Geoof Dunford love in thread who has ploughed and lost all of his fortune into the club, NOT. Plenty of people who cannot wait for Clarke to fail, absolutely pathetic, short sighted and down right thick. That's the attitude that makes Rovers the club that the supporters deserve. I'll repeat it for you as you seem to have missed what's happening, 1 win in 5 against pub teams. Glad you are happy about that. What has it come to when we are expected to celebrate beating part time park outfits like Woking? There were 2 clowns in charge last year, one didn't want to be here, keeping him on was madness, and Clarke was the other one, that alll worked out well, didn't it. I've missed nothing, ive witnessed the downfall of this club which IMO started when we returned and the now reclaimed saviour Geoff Dunford began his campaign of alienating the many people who worked for free. Slowly but steadily the spirit that existed against all odds at Twerton evaporated, the club is now a totally different club, run as a closed shopM It does not have a humble leader such as the chairman at Stoke that considered himself to be a custodian, we have a bumbling bufoon of a chairman who appoints a new manager roughly every six months. The said manager has to work on a budget that does not compete and a fanbase that has large sections of the crowd booing and berating players after a bad pass. We now have your sort of fan running their hands in anticipation refusing to back a new manager who has taken Rovers on an unbeaten run not seen in many years. So yes let's see Clarke sacked, he is to blame for the fact that Higgs prefers so spend money on fruitless legal challenges instead of players budgets. And lets have manager number 9 in four years, we won't look like a laughing stock at all will we Bamber....

Woking lost 3-1 at home to Telford by the way. Terrible result.

I certainly don't feel glee. I miss going to games on Saturday. I wish we had a decent football team in the FL. That's it. I've now indulged myself into other things.

That game today just showed up all the places we are lacking in team strengh, and bloody hell it was all over the pitch. The last few games at home have been crap, today was the icing on the cake, (i hope). Hicks and DC talk about getting Two in, TWO, your both having a laugh we need maybe 5 or six. Taylor not good enough, Cunington leaving, so thats the stike force gone! I can see it going down hill from now because i don't trust box 1 to do the right thing, do you ? And dont talk about our unbeaten run, we've been just about geting away with it in those games.

Fair comment. I would be very surprised if any real Rovers fan would be happy with a loss though. If so then that is pretty messed up. As it stands, we did ok result wise today. Could've been in 2nd place had we won Football Conference Pos. And lets have manager number 9 in four years, we won't look like a laughing stock at all will we Bamber.... We already are a laughing stock. He's not 'new' though is he. The situation was saveable last year when Clarke took sole charge, he made a monumental mess of things, it was obvious after Torquay that he's clueless, nothing has changed. Talk to me about 9 games unbeaten in L1 and you may have a point, but we have played almost half of the teams in the 5th tier, and we are yet to record a resounding win. We can agree on Dunford and Higgs though. I wouldn't be surprised if bad news wasn't just round the corner and that's why Geoff has stepped down.

Are excuses even needed? The board are solely responsible for the ridiculous and embarrassing position the club currently finds itself in. We've just lost at home to a team from 'near Stroud'. How do the board deserve anything other than bashing?

It's been pretty harmonious in the last 6-7 weeks.
Reckon we can now go on another streak of several games without losing, and have a bit more enjoyment, because after all it's no fun being in this league or supporting this club, or this manager, or Matty Taylor or turning up.
I hate the last 10 years but ffs, we are adjusting to this hellish situation. We have been failed by the board, but we will see them out, 7000 watching this, DC might be untried at higher levels but I think he's good for this situation.

Thats a strange and wrong assumption. I'm still embarrassed by the fact we're in non-league football. Nothing we achieve this season will have me praising this board of directors.
