Adam is a better player than Harrold. He scores goals, holds the ball up, can head a ball, isn't on his arse half of the time and doesn't get injured. I will be very disappointed when he leaves us.

Absolutely right re: Cunnington. Taylor and him just have no understanding at all. As for Harrold - don't get me started. He was deadly if you could deliver the ball on a silver plate in the 6 yard box. Apart from that - a total waste of space that effectively cost us our league status. He was our preferred striker and did not score enough. Admittedly he was never fully fit after he came back from injury (so why did we play him week in week out) plus he didn't get great service... but missed enough chances to keep us in the league.

I'd have Cunnington over Harrold all day long. He wins headers, never stops running, has scored a few goals (none of which penalties), doesn't spend most of the time on his backside and certainly doesn't give away fouls every time he jumps for the ball. Factor in the fact he will be on considerably cheaper wages and there's no contest.
That's not to say I think his partnership with Matty Taylor is exactly free flowing. They don't quite have that natural understanding as a pairing but they still do a lot of good work for each other in my opinion. I personally don't think it's any coincidence that since Cunny has been in the team our form has improved. He's not the sole reason we've picked up good results recently but he has played a part for sure.
We will miss him when he's gone but I think we'll see another striker come in, someone who is perhaps better suited to playing alongside Taylor. I wouldn't like to say whether the contract offer made by DC yesterday was for a striker but I do think that within the next week or so we will see someone come in.

Cunnington travels 5 hours a day for training and frankly he is not that good so he will no doubt go back to Cambridge NEXT MONTH. My word, that's one hell of a commute, well by my standards it is anyway. After looking at the maps (and assuming that he drives), it seems that the only motorway available to him is Bristol to Swindon and return. You would have thought that something a little better could have been worked out for him, wouldn't you?

I think Cunnington is a smashing player; IMO we need to sign him on a permanent deal during the January window.

Yeah, when people don't want to come here, that puts it in a bit more perspective, especially if they've got family. Compare and contrast to, say, a smallish Lancashire club, who would have hundreds of potential players locally.

Here we are in Bristol, which I've always believed to be conveniently placed on the motorway system (North, South, East and West all quite accessible), in a very pleasant part of the country, allegedly paying (until quite recently) good wages . . . and yet for quite some time we have been unable to attract decent(ish) signings. Ward's efforts to sign a striker last season, were not only fruitless but embarrassing, and matters haven't really improved since then. Clearly we're not in the Lancashire/Yorkshire/Home Counties loop, but there's clearly more to it than that, isn't there? After all many teams in an even worst geographical position to ourselves still manage to do quite well, the loan market itself will bear that out. But we can't even seem to attract decent loan players.

i think adam is a very honest and capable target man who has played a big part in our fantastic run,,we will need to get another target man and its a difficult task for the manager to replace him not impossible but not easy
