Bristol City is not a football club anymore. Its is a billionaire's plaything, a toy, just like so any others. Pity really. The plastic teds and prawn sandwich brigade will be lording it at the new chez lansdown palace soon.Money don't buy class though! Strangely though it was not us lording it about a nicer stadium development etc. Then you ignominiously fell out of the football league and the ground idea went to sh*t too. Nonetheless ours is a rebuild designed to attract investment and just makes sense to do. Lansdown is a very unassuming guy and the best thing to happen to the club and city of Bristol in decades. He also wants clubs to be self funding - eg the sale of Baldock to fund signings etc.

I'm not having a pop at him or City but the best thing to happen to the city of Bristol? You wouldn't care 1 jot about him if he didn't own your club.

That lot South of the river?!
I was born and brought up in Downend and Mangotsfield, now live in Henley on Thames.
Football fans come from all over the city fellas...

All he's doing is spending a few quid of the money he should pay in tax on vanity projects.

Another club where he has thrown money at it and it hasn't worked - sound familiar?

But Bristol rugby club (who I support and like to think most of us do) have suffered from years from underinvestment. Regarding the ground, I don't think they got a good deal no but I'm not going down that road. My view on Lansdown being good for the city as a whole is he wants to develop the stadium for not just football, but large events (music etc) which will bring more revenue to the city. I think the advancement is good for the whole city and I want to see the rugby club do well.

I've never really cared for them, mainly because I don't follow club rugby but their fans' angst at us for their old owner doing a deal that blew up in their faces didn't help. SL isn't doing any of what he does as a favour.

I think it's pretty much a given the club were down to the final stages of the Baldock deal. Agard was signed knowing he was going. Agard and Wilbraham are not coming to sit on the bench so it was always going to be a self funded set of dealings.

Noticed he had a CSF tshirt on when he was giving his team talk to the squad before a home game & posing in a picture with Cotterill. Wonder if anyone in that room knew what it was all about. Most strange.

How do you know he was a moron ? did you ever meet him ?. Anyway its not very clever or classy to slag off a bloke on the day of his funeral whatever football team he supports.
