Is it not obvious? If the club is in a higher league, the city gets greater national coverage, there are much bigger games, there is additional revenue generated in the city through all service industries etc. It's good for the city and people to have at least one club in the upper reaches of the system. Better to have two even like Liverpool or Manchester but at least one. To have the city of Bristol currently having a club in L1 and a few non league clubs is a disgrace. You know it as well as I. The city deserves better. I mean for gods sake, last season the top club in the region was Yeovil Town!!!!! Just for the sake of argument kaiserbcfc, how would you feel if that top team in the region was not B*FC, but another club? Would you still have the same altruistic feelings? Assuming that you would, I should like to propose Bristol Rovers Football Club to that position.

But nothing of what you've said would benefit Bristol Rovers in any way, shape or form should BCFC1982 be in the Premier League.

However you could draw a really long bow and state that the revenue would increase across the city, increasing the ability of the city to promote sport in the region. We were only one ageing fat pr*cks lucky volley away from the Prem too.....

Not sure people think more of Nottingham or Derby etc because they have Championship teams, the Premiership is the only league which brings attention to a city.

It does look like we're getting our acts together and will potentially get out of this poxy division at just the 2nd attempt. Here's hoping anyway, remember it is good for the whole city of Bristol to have a club in the top 2 divisions of the country. You're almost like Jesus

Kaiser there would be no positives for B.R.F.C. if the s**t got into the premiership that is just nonsense, it would be the opposite as all the youngsters would support them and we would just fade into obscurity once the current supporters were gone, even if Landsdown died his son would take the reins, so before you manage to achieve what is inevitable and only a matter of time it is imperative that we get back into the football league at the very least and sooner rather than later F.T.C.

And please don't pretend that singing the odd song is even close to comparable. It isn't. you must admit that some of your fans are a bloody embarrassment and to suggest they don't care about us is such a joke. the problem I have with City fans is that they ALWAYS want the last word and always do things far over and above us. And the Twerton fire will NEVER be forgotten.

And the Twerton fire will NEVER be forgotten. Here, here mehewmagic. And while we're on the subject of arson, was the fire in the South Stand at Eastville ever attributed to anyone? But I can speak with a fair degree of authority on our friends that live south of the river, having followed the fortunes (good and not so good) of BRFC for many years now, and I can say without fear of contradiction that many of the supporters of the other mob are a disgrace not only to their club, but also an embarrassment to the City of Bristol. And he feels it to be the god-given right of his club to be the public face of Bristol? As he has still to reply to my suggestion that another club could also be considered for the role, we'll all just have to wait and see how that one pans out. We live in strange times it's true, but is it really necessary to be patronised by a *ity supporter, and on your own forum as well? Go preach somewhere else I say, and whilst you're preaching remember that it is considered to be good manners to listen as well as speak in any discussion. A little humility goes a long way. We've had the same poster on this thread quite recently, telling us what he felt was right for Bristol, so long as it's B*FC orientated of course. It's this sort of arrogance that is one step away from abusing, physically threatening and spitting at your own players and staff. All of this and more of course, including what mehewmagic posted in his thread. And he has the audacity to suggest that his club should be god's own team in Bristol. If it wasn't so comical, it would be offensive.
